I'm torn between my consoles and my PC

Because I can't seem to stick with just one, or limit myself to a narrow enough amount of games.

I have my nice gaming PC, my Xbox One, my Wii U and my 3DS.

On my PC I tend to have your higher end/better PC versions of games - your Skyrims, Fallouts etc. And then I have a couple of games which are just plainly better on PC (or only PC), like Counter-Strike, TF2 etc.

But on my consoles I have a wider variety of games, including my personal favorites - shooters.

On PC I currently have (installed);

Skrim
Fallout
Black Ops 3 (which I THOROUGHLY regret, since console CoD is far more popular)
Sins of Solar Empire: Rebellion
League of Legends

Compared to my consoles;

Halo 5
Rainbow Six: Siege (RS6 has been more popular on consoles since Lockout)
Battlefront (more popular on consoles)
Destiny
Dead or Alive 5
Minecraft
Assassin's Creed BF-Unity-Syndicate

Smash 4
Mario Kart 8
Bayonetta 2
Monster Hunter Tri

Monster Hunter 4
Omega Sapphire
Pokemon X
FE: Awakening
FE: Fates Conquest + Revelations

Even comparing the games coming out or out for PC vs. coming out for console that I want;

PC:

Overwatch
The Witcher 3
Street Fighter V (since it isn't out on Xbox)

Console:

Gears of War 4
Mankind Divided
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Dishonored 2
Crackdown 3
Xenoblade Chronicles
Hyrule Warriors
A Link Between Worlds

Its like I'mm caught between worlds...and when I pay attention to one more than the other, I feel like I'm wasting one.

Hmm... So, just a discussion prompt, or did you want advice on the issue?

Personally I am vast majority of PC, and I look at half your console games and question how you can't play the PC version instead. Minecraft is the first obvious one that comes to mind, especially given the number of mods on the PC that vastly improve the experience.
I also count handhelds as separate to consoles, and they're my second most used platform.

Honesty, listing all the games I have installed on my PC would take too long, but its basically everything but Nintendo titles. Nintendo consoles I tend to buy late, and generally focus on the handheld instead.
At the moment, yeah, probably more Nintendo games I want than other games, but that's because the main AAA industry ATM has been vastly disappointing, and I don't count games I'm interested in trying to see if they're any good as games that I 'want'. I also tend to get any PC games that I really want up front when they first come out.

Why PC for me? Well, control, mostly. I get to decide how my games look, where they're installed, how fast they run, what with, which controls I use, where I play them [Laptops if on the go, PC that can connect to any screen or monitor [including TV] in the house for at home], and for most games I play even what sort of gameplay they have, as most of my games are moddable, so I just create a mod for whatever sort of gameplay I'd like.
Its also great for multitasking. Got 3 monitors running, so I have one with the main game on it, and a side monitor where I've got the internet and other information running so I can either browse random stuff online if bored, look up some gameplay hints if I get stuck, or have instructions on how to mod something onscreen whilst I'm doing it, without having to pause anything or minimise it. Also have Skype and other communications apps on my third monitor so I can communicate with anyone I want at any time.
The better graphics also help, as does the saved cost of having a good PC for work requirements, and not needing to buy a half a grand console to play games on too.

Overall, if you've got both a PC and a console that play games though, I wouldn't worry about neglecting one and favouring the other. Just buy and play whatever individual game you feel like playing at the time. If its predominantly console games one week, that's cool, at some point it'll probably end up being predominantly PC games. What matters is enjoying the games you play, not which platform you play them on.

I use PC mostly for older games, or games I want to ensure I can keep playing for years. My PS2 and N64 still work fine, but who is to say what will be lost to the 360 and PS3 when they inevitably become fully unsupported.

I tend to buy new games for console though. I also find it easier to stick with a game when on console, since its less easy to switch between hundreds of games. On Steam I find myself playing games for a few minutes or an hour at most then losing interest for one reason or another.

I buy all my games on PC unless it's a PS4 exclusive that I'm very excited for like Uncharted 4.

I don't understand why'd you want games like Dishonored 2, GR: Wildlands, Mankind Divided, Minecraft or Assassins Creed on consoles if you have a gaming PC. Or Rainbow6 Siege/Blops3, sure it's probably more popular on consoles but playing competitive shooters on consoles? Ugh, no thanks.

Maybe you should stick to consoles.

I'm not really sure what the problem is. If you're getting a lot out of them all, then I'd say that's better than the people that throw themselves fully behind one or the other while deluding themselves into thinking they have it best. Then again, I'm one to talk. My Xbox right now is hidden behind a mound of papers and books while my computer is out (typing on it) and ready for action. That's more situational, though.

But anyways, most of my favorite games are shooters or RPGs, both of which tend to be better on PCs unless it is a JRPG, which I'm generally not as interested in. If they allow modding, that is just a plus. But at the same time, I occasionally get the desire to play a hack-n-slash, platformer, racing, or fighting game, and those all tend to be better on consoles. I know I can just plug in my Xbox controller and be good on PC, but that doesn't tend to do as well with friends or developer concern.

Because basically all Tom Clancy games since the Xbox Original have had like 10x the population on one console than the PC versions have had for the entire global playerbase. I don't play games to have a playerpool of 2,000 people - that is way too small for competitive play. Its why I regret getting BO3 for PC.

Assassin's Creed games are just easier on console. You know they'll work, they control better with a controller than a keyboard and mouse.

PC's are clearly the superior choice if you value customisation. If you want plug and play however, consoles are far better thanks to their closed systems and lack of variation in hardware. Its usually(and should be damn well expected) far harder to break or have issues with your console. If you buy a new game you will definitly be able to play it. Whilst with a computer you might find you have some technical issue that only happens with your particular graphics card or whatever.

Im a bit of a miser though and feel like I can save a little bit more money playing on a pc thanks to sales.

You still won't have trouble finding people, I'd easily take less people if it meant I can play with a higher graphical fidelity and mouse and keyboard since fps games on consoles are horrible.

All Assassins Creed games works on PC, Unity was a fuck up but I'm pretty sure it was broken on consoles as well. You do know that you can plug in a controller and play pretty much every game on PC with it, right?

This got me about ten minutes of laughter.
There's no such things as shooters on consoles, silly. Shooters are for run and gun, not duck and cover.
Yeah lol, ''wider variet of games'', dude, there's like no variety in games on consoles if you compare it to what PC has to offer.

Why would you want to try and force yourself to stick with just one if you enjoy both? Don't worry about what you're playing the games on and just focus on having fun with whatever you're playing.

Not sure what the problem is - PC's and consoles have different pros and cons, that's to be expected.

I can only say personally that I prefer consoles because they're far more reliable. While some of my consoles have given up the ghost over the years (Megadrive, Dreamcast, N64, Xbox 360), the amount of money spent on replacements still falls way short of the amount of times I've had to repair/upgrade/replace a PC. If a game's out on both PC or console, I'll usually go for the console route unless it's an RTS (for obvious reasons), or in the case of some exceptions where I'm sure my PC can handle it, and the control scheme is better for a keyboard and mouse.

Like Allspice said, why'd you have to stick with just one? I've been a PC/console gamer since the start.

I am basically in the same place as you, sans the WiiU. I have my PC, where I buy 99% of my games. If it is a multiplatform game, that is where I will get it. My PC is powerful enough to be able to play anything that I want at a level that is higher than the current gen of consoles, and all of my friends play on their PC, too, so it is a no brainer for me.

Then I have my Xbox One. The console, right now, is basically a Halo machine. I own the Halo: MCC, Halo 5, Destiny, and Forza Horizon 2, and I only ever really play the first two. If I were a CoD player, though, I would probably get in on my XbOne, but otherwise, it is an exclusives box (hostage box).

Nobody said that being a dynamic gamer was easy. Just remember that while you struggle between worlds and have fun on both, other people just argue about which is 'better', and don't have as much fun.

PC Currently Installed on Steam - 191 titles.
PC Total Steam Collection - 517 titles.
Plus an uncounted but large number of GOG, Origin, UPlay and non-digital titles

Console Between 360, PS3, PS4, XB1, PS2, Wii, WiiU, GC, Vita, PSP, DS, and 3DS - Over 400 physical titles, unknown digital plus a ton of PS1 games and other older systems...

So, if anyone has a backlog bigger than (estimated) 1000 titles, please tell me. Otherwise I'm drowning in games.

Halo 5 <---- Fair Enough
Rainbow Six: Siege (RS6 has been more popular on consoles since Lockout) <--- Large community still active on PC + KB&M = Why???
Battlefront (more popular on consoles) <--- Sorry you fell for this but hey whatever floats your boat
Destiny <---- Fair Enough
Dead or Alive 5 <---- Bad PC version fair enough
Minecraft <------ Wut.
Assassin's Creed BF-Unity-Syndicate <--- All available on PC

These are most (all?) exclusives to their respective platforms so that's kind of the point. That or they are a genre typically delivered on Nintendo/portable systems.

It looks like you own a Nintendo console to play that platform's exclusives which makes perfect sense. What I don't understand is why you would say the PC has less variety just because you have chosen to buy most of your games on consoles. That's fine if you want to do that, but it's not the platform's fault. Any xbox "exclusives" except the big flagships like Halo and Gears will probably be on PC anyway if their marketing is to be believed. Quantum Break released day and date, Forza is getting a free-to-play pc version, Killer Instinct is on the way. Seems like you are pulling away from the pc rather than the pc pushing you towards the consoles.

Oh my god, that GIF, I love it so much! xD

But to be on topic, I can totally relate to this. I have a gaming PC, ps4, and xbone (a handful of older gens too, but meh). At times I do feel like I'm neglecting them, but if you love like, ALL games, I think it's more fun to be a console and PC gamer. There are definitely certain things I prefer on console, and definitely things I prefer to play on my PC. I know a lot of people can be very PC elitist (don't blame them at all), but there are definitely pros and cons to both worlds, which is why I love both <3

Basically, you do you, and enjoy ALL THE GAMES.
