Pretty sure that flag had a lot more stars during the Civil War/ trail of tears...Snowalker said:I'm sick of everyone saying the fucking revolution, all I see is an American Flag, could be the civil war, or better yet, the trail of fucking tears. That'd make for an interesting game. Trail of tears specifically, we could climb the grand canyon folks.
Uh, the last game was in Constantinople, modern day Turkey.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:So they are finally moving on from Italy?
FINALLY
ABOUT DAMN TIME!
Haha, are you serious?JoesshittyOs said:The Industrial Period really doesn't have anything on the development of the US.
Personally, I'd rather wait for the ideas trough to be a bit more full, I'm half expecting this to mainly feature "double hook blades".Plinglebob said:While it being set in the American Revolution isn't any sort of a shock, the idea of using a Native American feels slightly forced and I'm not looking foward to how bad they make the Brits out to be *cough*The Patriot*cough*. Also, as someone who loved the earlier games for the architecture, I feel there could have been a lot more to be gained from 17th Century Paris during the revolution or 18th Centry London during the industrial revolution.
Edit:*Raises Hand*Chainsaws_of_War_2 said:Good lord Ubisoft, you're almost becoming as bad Activision with these games. Who wants to buy a new Assassin's Creed every year?
Hmm, being in three games might have something to do with it. Honestly, I thought he was loads better than Altier. You could see him grow as an assassin.BakaSmurf said:I hope this is real, as that outfit is quite badass in my humble opinion, the tomahawk is a nice touch too.
Being one of the few people that's going to genuinely miss Ezio kind of irks me though... Really, what is it everyone has against him?
Well, I think they will probably not make the British into monsters like in "The Patriot". I think the story will probably be that secret bunker we saw in Ezio's last game, being in America I think it was, The British will have several Ranking officers that are part of the Templars, So the british may be used as your main enemy, they will most likely be like the gaurds in the last few games, most there just to be unfortunite victums.Plinglebob said:While it being set in the American Revolution isn't any sort of a shock, the idea of using a Native American feels slightly forced and I'm not looking foward to how bad they make the Brits out to be *cough*The Patriot*cough*. You don't know much about the Revolution, do you?willofbob said:Oh, and the American Revolution is not an interesting time period. Here's what happened: America was sick of the high british taxation rate and, instead of just complaining, or sending a guy, they sank a British ship. The war started then, but the Brits really weren't all that into it. They didn't really want to hold on to the colonies, they just fought as a matter of principle. Then the French joined in, siding with the Yanks, and Britain pulled out because America was far more trouble than it was worth.
In other words: Shame on you Ubisoft for abandoning whatever awesome idea you had come up with in favour of this blatant pandering to the American market. I hope you realise that now the only people who will uy this game are Yanks, now, right?
But it is still unconfirmed. I won't be believing this until Ubisoft confirms it themselves, a Best Buy employee isn't exactly the most reliable source.Beryl77 said:This is interesting. Victorian England would have been my preferred choice but this is very good as well. I'm really looking forward to see what they're going to do next with the story and what new ways of killing people we'll have, besides the obvious axe and gun from the picture and their trademark, the hidden blade.
I don't know whether it's true but I've read that they've been working on it for the last three years, so hopefully, it will be good and polished game. I'm certainly excited.
Edit:
Kotaku [http://kotaku.com/5889489/is-this-the-star-of-assassins-creed-iii] received this picture from a Best Buy worker. He claims that it's the game's promotional art.Janus Vesta said:Can we have a source on this? I'm not really doubting you but I've seen plenty of high quality fan art for Assassin's Creed in the American and French revolutions.
Well, for me, his story kind of wrapped itself up it 2, and it felt like they were just dragging it on for two more games while they could have introduced another main assassin or two and explored more time periods.BakaSmurf said:I hope this is real, as that outfit is quite badass in my humble opinion, the tomahawk is a nice touch too.
