EDIT: Also, this is a much better example of what the book's about rather than the page posted up top.
Well, I'm fucking sold!

OT: I remember hanging out with my cousins at their local comic book store and noticing this series... I mostly "skimmed" through, I think, the second volume... But, now I'm regretting not picking it up since they did have the first four or so volumes on display that day...

So, yeah... Gonna keep an eye on this series for sure... and I hope that it gets picked up on a channel like HBO or Showtime... or, maybe IFC, since their slogan is "always on, slightly off" and would be willing to allow the show to be as uncensored as they want them to be, given the language in the comic...

My problem with these sort of things is that I don't see why this should be aimed at a certain demographic. I've read it and it's a comic for everyone because it's really well written and illustrated. Why does it have to be aimed at any one group in particular.

because its part of marketing

I don't know about comics so I'd assume their a little more opening ended but I know in the book world its all broken down into genres and sub genres so the marketers can slap a label on it and push it to that niche

you can't spread your net too wide I guess

I see your point on the marketing side, it just annoys me the way certain media is marketed. Using Rat Queens as an example, it should be marketed as 'Medieval Fantasy' and 'Humour' among other things. It shouldn't be marketed as being solely for women, which it isn't, it's just people seem to think it is.
