Autobiographical

When I was 17 I was babysitting a child who hit me with a golf club. I punched his stomach in anger. He never hit me again. I feel no shame.

The Maiden

Once, there was a maiden
Who sought the answer to Life's mysteries.
She poured her heart and soul into hours of research
Learning much, but understanding little.
In her final moments, accompanied only by her studies, she understood.
"To know life, is to live it."

Whoa. I was just reading about micro-stories today, and now I see this. Have you heard of Ernest Hemingway's micro-story? Some actually consider it to be his best work:

"For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

Powerful stuff in just 6 words.

I believe this fits the criteria.
Cite your story, don't steal from Hemingway >_<

The Origin of Love

Jabsy awoke to find his magic flute missing.
"Oh No, my Magic Flute is missing!"
Jabsy then realized that he was in a swimming pool.
"Wait." Jabsy said, finally remembering. "I know where my flute is."
Jabsy jumped out of the pool and into Oblivion, finally reuniting himself with his flute.

If I really wanted to, I could probably write something much better. I write frequently, but when I can't really think about what I write, I make stupid crap like what you read above.

Sure I have a story! It?s called "The Ugly Barnacle." Once there was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died. The end.
Goddamn ninja, I was ABOUT to post that.

OP: "Once upon a time, a little flower blossomed.

It rose to the lilies of the sky, with the spikes that adornes it.

But men did not underatand such vast beauty. They wanted it for themselves, men being nothing but greedy.

A contract, a law and a few construction workers, barely paid, was all it took for the flower to fade."

I just created that out of the top of my head. owo

A story of Bacon.

There once was a man from the Land of Bacon. He ran out of bacon. He went to the store and got more bacon. He was happy and ate his bacon.

The End.

This is my creative writing assignment, but I like the idea and format. So, Escapists, can you create a story in 55 words or less that is also self sustianing?

Criteria:

1.Fifty-five words or less.
2.A setting,
3.One or more characters,
4.Some conflict, and
5.A resolution. (Not limited to moral of the story)
6.The title of the story is not part of the overall word count, but it still can?t exceed seven words.
Edit: 7. The work must be original, so please don't post anything that has already been published, or something that's from a movie/show/video game/etc.

Here is what I wrote today. My teacher didn't like it, so I'll have to write a new one.

From the Abyss

The girl looked through her goggles, ?I hate octopuses?they?re so creepy.?
?Octopi.? her brother corrected.
?Whatever, they?re disgusting creatures.?
?Please, they?re harmless! I mean, it?s not like they?re planning world domination.
The two laughed at the thought and swam away.
Meanwhile, one octopus looked at the other in terror.
?How do they know?!? he asked.
Doomed planet. Desperate scientists. Last hope. Kindly couple"

I am terribly sorry, this story is over 55 words. 118 to be exact. But I believe it is wonderful:

I walk this empty wasteland,
I feel the whole world is in my hands.
I carry it in a sack,
That is hung over my back.

But this world is forever dying.
No man can be denying,
This world is horrid and wild,
The smell and texture of disgusting bile.

But I am the only one that walks this land,
I am the only one that lives in this plane,
The plane meant for the good hearted and will,
The plane meant for nothing of bane.

For I am he who made this sack,
For I am he who made these rules,
I am he that made this land,
And I am he, who is merely a fool.

Gunshots. Always with the gunshots.

I sprinted down the road, pilfered mone in my briefcase. Sharp, whining rounds flew by overhead. Wasn't there some law against cops shooting innocent civilians? Weren't bank robbers completely innocent citizens, or something. ?It should be in the Constitution! This is absu-?

Bullets struck me, and everything faded. Gunshots...

40 words, including the title.

Beloved

"Here lies Patrick, beloved newborn,
a victim of tragic circumstances,
and of a sick mind.

Rest in peace my child,
assured in the knowledge that she who wronged you will come to justice.

We shall meet again soon,

Like a Boss

So there was this one time I was sitting around minding my own business when BOOM! Attacked by fucking ninjas. Obviously I couldn't let them live, so I proceeded to rip the closest one's head off to use as a blunt object. Then beat the rest to death with their own ribcages. Like a Boss.

55 exactly.
