That happens when things in the site break and it starts reverting to previous times.

Two different versions of the same Thread appeared. One before I logged in and one after with different posts on it. The one after did not have the post I was trying to reply to so I replied to another post from the same person and addressed the vanished post. A few seconds after I replied, the original version of the thread I saw before logging in reappeared, the post I just posted and my avatar disappeared. The post was there prior and refreshed prior to it disappearing..

Profile details are all gone, notification settings keep resetting, and I got what looks like somebody else's PM in my "quotes." It's weird. The person who sent it, MiddayBeauty, doesn't even show up as having an account on the site.

Oh man, what?! I knew we had a connection with gurl.com, but I never considered it would come have come from there.

That's so bizarre, on so many levels.

EDIT: It looks like I can reply, even though it's in quotes, but it doesn't know who to send it to because the person isn't on the Escapist.

I really hope this is down to someone fixing the site in relation to whatever that Menasha person was talking about the other day and not the end of days for this site. I mean, someone tinkering with the site could cause all sorts of problems, right?

I'm thinking the same.
I'd bet it's in the process of moving servers and updating/fixing stuff.
Lets see if Menashe comes back and lets us know.
