Infinity Ward: Modern Warfare is a "New IP"

So this means that they're planning on going long with this? Remember the guys who took the page for Modern Warfare 4? They still sitting?
If by what he means is Modern Warfare AS A WHOLE is a new IP, I'd understand. The sequel to a game doesn't count. Honestly I can only Modern Warfare as a trilogy rather than an IP that can easily be stained by Activision.
...Wanna bet? I'm not a big fan of the series myself, but seriously that's like saying the next Halo (ODST, The strategy one, the mmo, whatever the fucking do with the franchise) game will be a flop. It's a little disappointing that they are sticking to only Modern Warfare games for now, I'd rather they end the series now so we can still remember it fondly, before they wring every bit of it dry and leave it a mangled corpse on the side of the road, a mere shell of its former self.

This isn't some obscure japanese title with a nearly non-existant plot, it's Call of F'ing Duty. They can't just cut the numbers out and say "Oh, it's an original game, kthnxbuy". If they want to make a new IP, don't make the plot follow on from another game series.

Mind you, this is coming from a company that released 6 of these games, and as far as I know, a 7th on is already being under development...

They've also done a Call of Duty game that was categorized as "Modern Warfare" in order to distinguish it from the Call of Duty games that are set in WWII. (I guess WWII isn't 'modern' anymore.)

Yes, in the real world it can never really happen. BUT, that's beside the point; in the very first trailer, the green line thing, you could hear an airport terminal PA system and in the second trailer, it looked like there was a scene where they were in an airport terminal fighting the ultranationalists. I think The Mile High Club was a "peek" or "wink" at the possiblity of Modern Warfare 2, you know give us a teeny, tiny piece of the plot.Clashero said:
