I highly doubt it unless they have come To hate money. but hey new quality franchises would be nice to see to.

maybe they will put some actual "Modern" guns in the next "modern warfare" rather than tacking on heartbeat sensors to guns from the previous century. While the ranger, 1887, AK47, and Revolver are all cool, they are...well...not modern...The 1887 was made in the year 1887...

A land warier perk over a constant UAV HUD would have been more suitable to...
Why shouldn't we have some old guns in there? People will be using sawed off shotguns for years upon years to come and both the rangers and 1887s are publicly available. (you have to do the sawing for yourself) As for revolvers, why not? They fire a large caliber round at high velocity. In game, it's allot more useful than the desert eagle, a much more "Modern" gun.
The Desert Eagle Itself is a highly outdated and cumbersome fire arm. I'm not so much complaining that they have "old guns" (because I love Duel wielding 1887's) I am complaining that they don't have enough "Modern" Fire arms in the game.

No Metal Storm Handgun (This defiantly should have made an appearance): http://www.videosift.com/video/Worlds-Most-Powerful-Handgun-Metal-Storm

No Metal Storm 3GL Grenade Launcher (This is MUCH more modern than the M79 they have) http://investor.metalstorm.com.au/IRM/Company/ShowPage.aspx?CPID=1596&PageName=Metal%20Storm%20Achieves%20Man-Firing%20Milestone%27,%27Metal%20Storm%20Achieves%20Man-Firing%20Milestone

No 6.8 MM Rifles (Which are supposed to replace and bridge the gap between 5.56 and 7.62)http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/36_783/products_id/411535289

No Corner-Shot guns (These things would have been a bigger asset to Multilayer than those damn riot Shields IMO) http://www.strategypage.com/military_photos/corner.aspx

No Barrett .416 sniper Round (Which is supposed to Out range .50 BMG) http://videos.howstuffworks.com/discovery/30715-future-weapons-barrett-416-bullet-video.htm

There are so many "Modern" guns to choose from and yet the most up-to-date gun in the game is probably the SCAR or AA-12. Its not that hard to find modernish guns, just watch Future weapons for Christ sake infinity ward!

Sounds like rubbish, there's no way they'll leave such a gold mine open ended.

Due to serious melee technicalities, first person medieval combat will always suck.
I wholeheartedly disagree. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTUVfmE2ViQ] (Yes, it has a first-person mode).

What IW should do is stop gold-plating the moon, take their money, buy the rights to Duke Nukem, and then make MW3 with DUKE NUKEM AS THE STAR. That is the only way the plot from MW2 can be one-upped. Reveal that Russia is being controlled by the Pig Aliens and Duke INVADES RUSSIA. BY HIMSELF.

HAIL TO THE KING.

Call of Duty: Modern Glitchfare

Perks that have been announced will include unlimited ammo, invincibility, and speed hacks

I call it.

I honestly don't give a shit about what Infinity Ward do. They'll carry on making multiplayer centred games in which it takes 3 bullets to kill someone.

Anything else would seem like a comedown from the gargantuan MW2 - how do you follow up an act like that?
By ripping off Warhammer 40k (or just buying Games Workshop outright).

Hey, it's a plausible guess! Those guys have Avogadro's number of one-hundred dollar bills!

Infinity Ward
Wut?

I'm actually more interested to see what Treyarch is capable of if they're let off of the leash. I enjoyed WaW's MP more than MW1's, and I think if Treyarch was allowed a lot more creative freedom they'd be very capable of putting together a superior CoD product.

It's a fun game series, but you can only headshot somebody with a 2-shot automatic weapon so many times before your bored.

As interesting as it would be to have Warhammer and War/StarCraft under one roof (so to speak) I can't see Activision ever going for GW when they have Blizzard. While at one point I'm sure it was the other way around, WoW has catapulted Blizzard to public knowledge and popularity waaaaaay beyond the (relatively) niche audience of Warhammer/40k.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if these days, more of the public knowledge of Warhammer came from games like Dawn of War II than the ever-more-niche tabletop market. It'd be interesting to see.

so not true. shooting people in the face NEVER gets old.
anyways, I hope IW does continue on cod. I mean, if it's not broken, don't fix it.
But even if they don't, I'll be interested to see what they'll do next.

Someone didnt read my later post, and yes the first person part of Mount & Blade sucked terribly (for melee).

Yeah, but that's not medieval combat on a semi realistic level like you'd expect from CoD, I'm not talking about Oblivion'esq "hurr mash sword into stuff" type combat.

So you decided to ignore 80% of my post.

Notice how I said:"Perhaps now we can get some new titles out. Perhaps something new and innovative." As in, implying the old titles have not been innovative for some time.

And: "Most like we will still see the same generic FPSs by the wagonloads, but one can always hope."

I'm only saying that IW, now that they are no longer so bound by CoD, have the ability to do something great and new and innovative. If they have the will, remains to be seen.

Sounds to me like you need to play Ghost Recon. Seems more like your type of game. Besides, the corner shot would be out of place. In a game that's all about running around and making quick bursts of fire before sprinting to more cover, the cornershot would be a bit strange and I for one would not appreciate getting knifed while standing still.

Did Infinity Ward work on Shenmue?
Off Topic: Ha! I saw what you did there because Sega left Shenume after the second but didn't finish or make a third.

On Topic: I hope this is never true because I want to finish the story off and kill the main bad guy also remember that on the last US Marines level they said there going to Moscow, so is the US campaign in MW3 going to be set there?

If only your opinion were fact as much as you state it as such. I frickin' love first person mode for melee. Get all visceral and up close. I'll give that Oblivion's melee combat was less than stellar, but then again, it's not exactly realistic either, what with always taking damage while blocking (though M&B-style no damage at all is too far on the other end of the spectrum).

Oh, and I determine block direction manually. Auto-block is for wussies. So are shields.
