That's just wrong man, it's sick and twisted in so many levels what's next? a "lets set dogs and cats on fire mod" or a "child abuse mod"?

sometimes I lose every last bit of faith in humanity.

Freedom of speech means allowing not only those you agree with to speak, but those who you vehemently hate.

As per the thing itself, I'm not totally sure why this in particular is so terrible. If they hadn't said it was a school (and does it really look like one? It could be an office building or anything really) it would just be first person gta. The models (there are like 3) are all adults, straight out of halflife. There's nothing here which really says to me "I'm killing school kids". It's just killing identical npcs, if anything it's actually pretty boring.

Oh for fuck's sake.
I bet somewhere in the world, someone has a family member that died in a shooting at some street. GTA is still existing though!
I bet somewhere in the world, someone has a family member that died in a one of the many wars that video games are based on. There are still video games about war!
I bet somewhere in the world, someone has a family member that got BACKSTABBED, and TF2 is still there!

What makes this any different?
How is this more horrid than, say, GTA?
Because we kill children, not adults?
not even, reskin the kids green and replace their sound files with erhhhhhhggggggggg, and it would be considered a competent hl2 zombie mod

"It affected me as much as hearing about the quakes in Haiti. Which is to say, not very much at all."

"The fun in killing the "innocent" NPCs is the fact that they are incapable of fighting back."

"The media is right to dismiss games as "bang-bang shoot 'em ups" and "murder simulators," because at their core, that is exactly what most games boil down to."

"Gamers are a generally misguided, highly reactionary lot."

Ladies and gentlemen the trolls have a new king.

I like this guy, I want to have a beer with him. And where is the link to download the mod?

I wonder what they'll come up with next. Maybe an M rated, graphic baby-raping Pedophile simulator. It isn't about giving Pedophiles a means of practice for real life horrors, it's all for fun and points! Why not? We haven't done it yet. And it's not like real life victims will matter; they just will never understand that a game is a game.
That comes under owning child porn, and would be classified as illegal. This isn't illegal.

I can see what they are going for here. I'm just not sure the entire rest of the world who will be kicking in doors to find them will. I am hesistant to say i like the idea behind this, but i do remember those rampage-ish experiences in GTA.

Oh yeah, thats what our industry needs. More controversy and material for the "video games teach to kill irl" people.

Fuck you, guy.

Splendid! Good to see some people actually trying to push the limits of what can be shown and what can be seen. Take it as an horror if you will. Risks are what this art form needs if it wishes to be taken seriously.

On serious note. There are better mods that dont just look like Garry's Mod.

It seriously sounds like.... fun, I have waiting for this moment for ages, being able to kill kids, in game of course and I find the hole point very amusing, I want this... now.

And why does everybody think they crossed the line?
because the tragedy is now relatable, and not just zombies, or forigners

If people want to play a game where they go out and murder children thats fine with me, ever played bioshock, that gets pretty close.
It will be just another game where we kill mindless AI, people wont be sitting there naming each person after someone they went to school with, it will just be the same old, play the game, finish the game, continue playing it if its fun to play. I find Call of Duty fun to play because of the amazing graphics, how fluent it is, hell Black Ops had a good story, not because i enjoy killing various races of people. This game will be the same.

Not if I made them CGI render. That's artistic license and protected. Just ask anyone who has lolicon art. Would you like to counter his argument again or are you going to just give him the green light on his arcade style baby raping game?

As bad as the mod is, I would rather some kid play this and shoot up a virtual school than they actually shoot up a real school.

EDIT: Besides, all the civilians look directly ripped from Half Life 2, as do some of the weapons, so I can't see this being much different from "OMG LOL IM GOIN 2 DIE IN GM_CONSTRUCT!111"

Lolicon is actually illegal in America. My point stands.

This. Seriously if I kid plays this and somewhat sees the reality of what would happen if he did it (e.g. the end part of choosing between suicide and being in prison for the rest of your life) and stopped him, this game would have saved lives.

There is a big difference between advancing an art form with risks (like say Bioshock, Amnesia, Today I Die, or other out there games) and doing snuff work. This game decidedly falls into the latter camp. This will not make the gaming industry look more serious, this will make the gaming industry look like a place where seriousness is not taken at all, and that's at best.

Okay so wait,

This is ultimately just a cry for attention from a horribly crappy mod. This doesn't realistically portray anything other then how dumb unarmed AI is. The airport scene in MW 2 was more breathtakingly obscene in terms of how much of a finger was given to the man.

This is just an obviously outdated mod for a game, that has no substance. It's not even a good horde mode from the looks of it.

Seriously these "children" in the school aren't cowering or hiding. They barely run from the dude for Christ's sake.

We're giving these tards more attention then they deserve for such a half-assed attempt at a mod.
