And heres the embedded version of the trailer for when it works again.

Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus is a new Invader Zim movie cartoon that has been a long time in the making, the last animated Invader Zim content prior to that being in 2006. This show is serious nostalgia for me.

I really enjoyed it, there's one time I really started laughing with
Gaz talking about how you didn't mean to lock us in with this stupid professor clone

Did you watch it? What did you think? There were some really nice looking animation in it like that
imaginary trial

Also:
PHASE TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Also because this is the Escapist Off Topic it needs to be political somehow so heres a Invader Zim/Trump joke.

Wow, Invader Zim is a quite a necro. It was kind of fun back in 2002, but will I still enjoy it today...?

Ah yeah, heard about the movie a year ago or so.

Hm, i will watch it tonight... Loved watching "Invader Zim" when i was in college (And whenever i feel nostalgic for it) - so quotable - great scripts and voicework. I guess it is one of the few shows where creative genius and studio interference made a amazing product (Although Vasquez hated it apparently).

But truthfully: i am a bit scared that it might suck and make me sad - like for example the "Ren and Stimpy - Adult Party" - that was total garbage. Well, wish me luck.

Ok, I watched it a little while ago. I was a fan growing up. I was the guy looking for Gir quotes in wav file, so that should give you an idea of how much I was into it.

I'd rate it a 7/10. Mainly due to my age, and minorly due to pacing.

Honestly, one of the best parts of the old cartoon was wrapping your head around the snippets of insanity this week. And once you got a handle of what was insane, it was over and you had to let it go. Then after the next commercial break, here was a new type of insanity that you had to get used to. That was the brilliance of the show.

"Here's a norm that's sacrosanct, BOOM, I JUST KNOCKED THAT THE HECK OVER! Oh I'm sorry. Let me give you a minute to pick that up. I don't know what came oHERE'S ANOTHER NORM THAT I JUST TURNED ON IT'S HEAD! Ok. Fun. See you next week to build that all up again."

The cohesion and length of story time of 'Enter The Florpus' can't allow for the same mind-screw. The jokes are still funny. The delivery hasn't missed a beat, and that did my heart good. But frankly, there's a reason why Comedians jump all over the map when they have a set. Because one hour long special about even the most funniest thing that happened in recorded history would soon become common place. Still amusing, but the familiarity will take out some of the surprise.

Still. A solid, solid watch. Again, the voice characters haven't lost a step. Not one. I still want to hug Gir with all of my heart.

This, though, gives me hope that it does good enough that Netflix picks it up for a season or two. The writers still have it, the actors still have it, and the animation is still there. We can pick it back up.

It didn't blew me away. And I was actually kinda hoping that Zim would win in the end.
I would had been interesting to see how that paid off; specially since his superiors weren't really interested in planet Earth at all, and then they'd have in their hands a planet they didn't even care.

It was fine, I enjoyed it.

Can't really think of anything else to say really.

I did have the "peace is nice" song stuck in my head half the day today and it made me hate everything.

I liked it though they didn't really take the concept anywhere new. It's just an extra-long episode of Invader Zim. Not that it's a bad thing. I guess after that Rocko special I was expecting something a bit more self-regarding.

Well, if Tron and Wall Street got sequels 2-3 decades later, why not Invader Zim? I'm gonna watch it later tonight, and I'm curious just how it feels to come back to invader zim after not watching it in over a decade

I found it a bit underwhelming overall to be honest. There were a few jokes that I enjoyed, mostly those related to GIR and Zim's computer, but most of them kinda fell flat. The ending felt pretty lackluster and I was a little disappointed with how little the "Big spaceship gang thingy" showed up.
I did enjoy seeing the cameos that I noticed, Table-headed service drone Bob for example.

Watched it. It was entertaining and it was more Jim....er, Zim, but not much more then that. I don't know if this is essentially a wrap up to the series we never got back in the day and if it is, sure, it was satisfactory but they really could have done a bit more with it.

Because resurrections often suck.

What was fresh and exciting once is often passe 20 years later. Sometimes the writers just seem to have lost their energy or purpose. The Netflix revival of Arrested Development, for instance, even despite a relatively short gap was little more than a half-hearted stab at past glories. It's perhaps easier with some shows that are more "ordinary", because they hadn't benefitted so much from novelty or zeitgeist in the original run.

As one of the previous posters noted, sometimes a format change (from short cartoons to feature length) doesn't work. Characters moving from sketch comedy to feature film, for instance, often doesn't turn out well either.
