Irish Creatives Turn Client Criticism Into Comedy Gold

The dog is off-brand? HOW CAN A DOG BE OFF-BRAND? Don't listen to him, puppy.

You work for someone. I work for someone. And in that working relationship madness lies, because lurking behind the scenes is the client, who is always right. Except when he, she or it says something incredibly stupid, in which case he, she or it is also always right, but dumb as a bag of rocks. Ireland has its fair share of rock heads, and a bunch of its ad creatives, designers, directors and other long-suffering individuals got together to share the pain by creating posters, illustrating the best worst feedback they ever received. Enjoy!

Here's hoping the Sharp Suits collective, as the group likes to be known, will return to the theme sooner rather than later. There was a time when it was selling poster-size prints to benefit Temple Street [http://www.cuh.ie/], but alas, no longer. That said, if you want to send it a message, the collective's happy to hear all your praise at [email protected].

These were all right. Not as funny as I thought they would be, but I like the style and I hope they do more.

Ditto here. A working, apparently safe link to Temple Street Children's University Hospital is here: http://www.cuh.ie/ I'm not sure if the link Karloff used was hijacked or something.

Not sure why that link was giving you grief, but I've switched it out. Hopefully that solves the problem,

Makes me think people started making images for http://clientsfromhell.net/
Especially considering the design of the last image.

"I don?t like the dinosaur in this graphic. It looks too fake. Use a real photo of a dinosaur instead."

As a designer...this is more than true. The client doesn't know what they want, but they know how they want to feel. They try to describe this feeling through words that have been translated from russian to english to japanese and back to english again by a monkey. But....they are the ones paying the wages at the end of the day. So even if the image looks bad, they asked you to change it...so change it :).

Sidenote: A colleague of mine once was asked to change the shade of yellow in a design he was doing. He changed the shade 3-4 times and the customer was not happy. They sent an email saying "we want it more yellow" -.- . Anyway, my colleague sent them back the same picture as they refused before and just told them he had changed it and they now thought this was 'Perfect, much better than the last one'. Business owners need to feel in control so will pick and pick (subconsciously maybe) just to mentally say "im the boss, what I choose is what is right".

**again... they pay the wages**

Why do I think this is funny even when I don't play the designer part? I'm going to specialize more in networking than anything else.

"Comedy Gold" was a pretty big exaggeration here. I guess "moderate humour" doesn't get as many clicks though.

That is not comedy gold but It's mildly funny at best.

-edit-
I glanced at the source website there was one said
"the Christmas tree has to look natural but it has to be purple"
that just stupidly contradicts it self. Clients are idiots.

I would like to say I am surprised to see such a stupid statement in existence I already know the potential of stupidity is infinite.

I don't know, I have seen some natural purple fur trees before. Not solid purple, just the tips of the branches. They are quite lovely.
