Is anyone reminded of the Final Fantasy IV and possibly V and VI with the Terraria designs?

I've noticed something ever since I played the game and watched other people play it, the characters don't just look like SNES sprites, they look like Final Fantasy sprites! More specifically, Final Fantasy IV battle sprites, to me.

Which is awesome, for me, since I love that game and it has huge nostalgia quality. But I was wondering what you think. Am I the only person who sees this specifically?

I figure I'm right and this is possibly super old news/discussion material. But I am curious as to people's thoughts. I can't get over the feeling I'm playing Final Fantasy, more specifically Final Fantasy IV, when playing Terraria.

Also, I can't help the feeling that this was intentional. But I can't exactly find anything indicative of why the particular style was chosen when I search.

Well there are items like Breaker Blade and Muramasa in it, though the latter isn't FF exclusive.

The Demonite Armor does kind of look like a Dark Knight / Dragoon and new Cobalt stuff can look like Ninjas so I wouldn't say it's impossible for them to have taken some inspiration from the FF series.
