I recently managed to scrounge together a little cash to buy the game now that it's on sale, and I'm trying to get to the multiplayer. However, it wouldn't appear that I'm having any damn luck.

Is anyone still playing this game on the PC? Anyone at all? Or am I just tragically late to the party, here?

I haven't played the multiplayer for about a month and a half now, but when I was, I had zero problems finding groups to do it with in a timely matter, regardless of the difficulty level. I don't figure it has changed that much in such a short amount of time. I also saw a lot of people with fairly low N7 scores, so I don't think you're alone in being late to the party.

Ah, thanks a lot, man. I'm trying to find a group now, but perhaps people are just busy. I figured that since it was a pretty huge game, that people might still be playing, but yeah- maybe this just isn't a great time.

If you are doing it to get the best ending, you should know that Bioware lowered the Effective Military Strengh requirement for each ending. It's now possible to get the best ending if you manage to get most of the assets and have a 50% galactic readiness. I don't recall the exact numbers but a quick Google search should help.

If you just want to try out the multiplayer, good luck.

From my experience, I only had to ever wait more than 5 minutes if I put in some really specific criteria (ie Reapers on White). Usually I'd only set my difficulty and everything else on random. If you still have issues finding a group, let me know and I'll see if I'm getting the same issue on my side.

Well, last time I tried it, I simply went for a quick match with all settings left to "any." I waited about ten minutes before giving up. I don't know what the issue is- maybe my connection's just bad.

You need to download the 4 (free to download) DLCs if you haven't. People without the DLC can't play with people who do. The DLC adds a bunch of weapons, characters, maps, and even enemy types. There's an RNG unlocking system with micro-transactions, though, so I only call them "half free", as cynical as it sounds.

I played for a good over a year (on xbox) until a month after the last update came out, very tense and addicting. I sometimes jump in for a match, and have no problems doing so with the DLC, even now.

I played a match 4 or 5 days ago. It's incredibly fun as long as you have good connection to the host.

It seems populated still, but I noticed a lot of repeat players.

Just tried Quick Match on Bronze and Silver and didn't have any issues. In Origin, go to My Games and hover your mouse over Mass Effect 3. The pop up should have an "i" button and a "Play" button. Click the "i" and scroll down. Make sure all the free DLC is downloaded and installed. I actually don't think Extended Cut matters, but let's not chance it.

Ah! That explains a whole lot! I thought I'd downloaded them all, but apparently, I'd forgotten a couple. I'll let them download and see how that affects things. Thank you, good sir.

I still play on a fairly regular basis. I can't say anything about how long it takes to find a match, because I have a group of friends I usually play with, but I will say this: even in the first month of release, it was much, much faster to find a match than to make one.

I really enjoyed the game back when they were rolling out regular updates and I would play the multiplayer some more, but I'm too lazy to re-download origin and ME3 since I did a clean install of windows a few months back.

Personally, I play quite regularly on 360, and with all the DLC (Which is free, btw. That may be your problem, most people have the DLC) I can find a match in a matter of seconds.

It still seems rather populated, cant say for PC though, however I've been hearing that Origin's been having some trouble lately on the multiplayer front.

I used to with some regularity, until I bought Citadel (which somehow invalidated my online pass, which I shouldn't need because I played it on PC).

This Guy. I play at least once a month with my other ME3 friend. We have a badass Adept Volus-Soldier Geth Juggernaut team going.

I gave up after they started releasing all the new class packs. I was still trying to unlock the basic ones (mother fucking Asari Adept would not god-damn unlock! I got Drell Vanguard five fucking times, but no Asari Adept - and yes, the Drell Vanguard is the same rarity) and adding a ton of new ones just lowered my chances of getting the class I cared about.

I just got sick of the whole random bullshit thing. It wasn't fun being forced to play a class I didn't want for hours in the hopes of getting to unlock the class I actually wanted to be playing.

So, again, for the record, fuck the fucking fuck out of this random drop blind unlock bullshit.

Edit: If you've played Adept enough to reach level 20 and drop back to level 1, twice, the game should just fucking GIVE you all of the base Adepts. There is a point when blind unlocks are just fucking stupid, frustrating, and pointless. Their shitty system to force me to A) keep playing or B) pay money instead made me so frustrated I stopped playing their damn game entirely.

They actually changed the class unlock system so you'll only unlock classes you don't have all the customization options for.
Ultra Rares have gotten a lot rarer though.

Well thank fuck for that. I don't know how many damn times I got Drell Adept. Once, I got Drell Adept in back-to-back packs.

At least I know I will never again get Drell Adept.

One question - is "Asari Adept" an ultra rare? I thought it was just a regular rare. I ask because, if the new systems increases my chances of actually getting Asari Adept, then I might possibly consider going back to ME3 multiplayer.

Just for the record, I had Asari Adept in the demo and it was amazing - some of the most fun I've ever had playing multiplayer. Hence my anger that I can't get it back.

The only ultra rare characters are the Volus, (Yes really) and the Awakened Collector (Also yes, really.)
