Is "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" on PC a Possibility?

Following the release of a PC Port of Viva Piñata, I have been wondering about the possibility of a PC version of BK:NB at some point in the future. I think it would be awesome. As a long time BK fan, i'm really hoping that this happens, as i don't really feel like forking out $600 for a 360 at the moment, what with university expenses, etc (man, food is expensive).

So, what's your opinion

In my opinion the game is pretty terrible, and the 360 only costs $200 at the moment.

Yeah is it really that bad? I know the first two were solid games, how did they go so wrong this time? The hate feels exaggerated as internet dwellers like bandwagons, but it's stemming from something big.

"Solid games"? The first two games are the best 3D adventure/platform games ever made. The third one is a clunky, repetitive vehicle-building mini-game festival with no platforming to speak of and only pays lip service to the first games; rumour has to that Rare was forced into bringing the franchise back from the dead because Microsoft wanted guaranteed sales, and that the idea was originally going to be given to a new IP.

God damnit. I really can't see a light at the end of the tunnel for this industry, the way things are going.

Whelp, it's big business. Microsoft is annoyed that they spent so much money on Rare only for most of the developers to leave, and for the remaining and new ones to produce good but hardly triple-A games. Rare were one of the biggest reasons Nintendo did well during the Nintendo 64 era (arguably, they kept them alive), and Microsoft was betting on Rare bringing over all the Nintendo fans to their side. By and large, it didn't, and now they're stuck with a good developer they paid way too much for making big-budget games that don't sell particularly well. That's why they've got Rare working on stuff like the Avatar system for the "New Xbox Exerpience", as well as bringing back old franchises in hopes of cashing in on branding alone, now.

Well, the game being good or not aside, it'll probably release for the PC soon. It happened with Viva Pinata, GeOW and some other things, so chances are good.

If Banjo Kazooie and Tooie really are "the best 3D adventure/platform games ever made" then the bar is pretty low, I'd say. But like I've said plenty of times before: the reason I think the new Banjo isn't a terribly good game is that it feels like a collection of cool stuff from other games than a game in its own right.

It's really the other way round. Most of the old Rare had already left by the time Microsoft was even bidding for the company (forming companies like Free Radical). During the Gamecube era, they really had produced nothing of worth; the only game they actually got to release on it was the horrendous Star Fox Adventures.

Are you insane? Have you played them? The art direction, controls, level design etc. are all genius. The second game is a bit more original than the first, and has some absolutely massive levels that all connect to each other as well as the overworld. The first time I had to go between worlds to solve puzzles, it blew my mind, and still stands as something that has yet to be incorporated into other games. Even if the series is essentially founded on tropes, it does a damn good job of using them, inverting them and subverting them.

Fair enough, but there were still some of the original guys left around back in the GameCube era. Star Fox Adventures is a pretty good game, too, but would have been much better as an original IP and suffered a lot from Nintendo forcing the name on them.

As much as I would love it Banjo-Kazooie will never be released on the PC. Right now the companies that normally concentrate on consoles (such as Microsoft) feel that the risk of piracy on PCs are too great to be worth it. In fact GeOW 2 won't be on the PC because apparently (or according to developers) the piracy rate of GeOW 1 on the PC were quite high. Also the original games are apparently going up on Xbox Live Arcade later anyway. If they do port it to the PC the Arcade sales would most likely be much higher than the PC port. Not to mention that PC ports would require offering technical support, ensuring hardware compatibility and possibly patches.

... i miss Banjo-Kazooie

Please don't bring that rubbish into my nesting grounds, it's like someone inviting you to their house and you take a dump right in the sofa in front of everyone. And my good memories of that series will stay intact, DO NOT WANT.

Also a platformer on the PC? I don't see it happening, at least control wise.
Hey, Psychonauts managed to be awesome on PC, even though it's a Platformer, and has PC controls.
