I preferred ODST, because it gave me all the Halo 3 maps, firefight, and a harder and, in my opinion, better campaign.
But, it's all opinion.

Really? Because the only complaints I heard about the game was that it could have been cheaper.
Everything else was either sheer flamebait, similar to your post, or very small things.

Halo threads of any kind are generally looked down upon, because they pretty much always desolve into flame wars.

edit: as seen above, it is already starting.

Since your new, its probably a mistake, but for future reference, I suggest not making any Halo threads.

And to respond to your topic, I go with thenamlessguy

ODST was the first one I really enjoyed.

It's slower, more tactical and immersive, but Halo 3 is better for chaotic fun.

My favorite weapons have always been the Gravity Hammer, the energy sword, and the sentinel beam. In ODST the swords and beams were absent and the gravity hammers were rare.

I dunno really.

The lack of matchmaking mode really hurt Firefight IMO since I rarely have any friends who are online that I can play with. The campaign was pretty good though and just roaming around New Mombassa can be really fun.

I prefer Halo 3 though because of it's pure multiplayer chaos though. ODST comes with the multiplayer though so definetly go with ODST if you look to buy. In conclusion I like Halo 3's content over ODST's

I guess he surfs on Sony and Nintendo forums regularly

but no most of the complaints have been focused on the price
which is a shame because the best complaint should be on the lack of matchmaking for Firefight
but in the end that wasn't a problem as long as you have friends to play with

It's Campaign had a better story, its multiplayer is GoW2's horde mode.

Well I like to think Halo 3 had a lot going for it, the four player co-op and the forge and the theatre mode and such (which I count because it was the first Halo game to come up with the concept) and besides I got to play as an elite in multiplayer which was a real deal sealer for me.
However ODST is just so fresh with its ideas and the concept was so well done complete with an interesting spin on the Halo universe and overarching story with some great moments of gameplay design within. Besides it has the cast of Firefly in it which counts for something. I liked it, considering I had to pay one hundred dollars for it (the average price for any game in my god damn country /rage!!) I think I got a decent enough game.

So honestly I don't know which to pick, I guess for campaign ODST at least delivers some fresh ideas and while they both have reasonably short campaigns I think ODST helps deliver on a personal level while Halo 3 makes things more on a wide epic scale.... I'm going to have to say that both games do what they were supposed to do and it comes down to personal preferance as one is about a lone struggle and the other about a final desperate stand.
However ODST has firefight... to be honest I feel like a kid in a candy store, I can't decide.

EDIT: One thing I do want to mention though, at times having to get a health pack in ODST can be damn flow breaking and annoying but overall it is still a good game and I still have no idea of my preferance.
