Surely if you mix red dead redemption with GTA IV you get the san andreas area, it is still my favourite GTA although i do like the ballad of gay tony, achieved more than the actual game in my book

The GTA series just needs to fade away out of existance.

Their new approach to games is realism; have as much gritty realism and "realistic" acting car physics as possible (ignoring that you can take multiple shotgun and assault rifle shots to the face and shrug it off with a soda). The gritty realism approach, in my opinion, doesnt work for ANY game. But when it comes to GTA, which was always whacky and cartoony, I take it as a slap to the face.

Revisiting a pinicle is not a way of making your series better. Its a way of milking your audience. Re-visiting CJ wouldnt make the series get any better; they still have the opportunity to add and subtract whichever gameplay mechanics they feel like.

Remaking San Andreas or digging up a sequel would really feel forced at this point, CJs story was tightly woven. If the series has fallen (which it has), its best to let it fade out and go away. If it can redeem itself, good; but dont let it do so by climbing up a tree of nastalgia.

San Andreas' concept of including several towns and cities as well as countryside areas, was a brilliant touch that instantly made all other sandbox crime sims appear just a little bit out of date. Why we haven't seen more games like it ALREADY, is a mystery!
We have.. but it doesn't seem as.. well integrated.. Instead it seems new towns or areas practically exist as PART of every other city... a good example is GUN with how you could go ten feet behind a traditional "town" and be in the deepest part of the mountains..
In San Andreas you had to take a PLANE to the next city practically unless you fancied a LONG drive... I think that is what is missing these days.. the sense of SIZE. San Andreas felt HUGE.. with so much content strewn about in between the areas that every place FELT like it's own game world not just one sprawling city with a mountain in the center of it...

No, I do not. San Andreas was my least favourite GTA game out of the 3D versions. That's not to say it was bad though, I just don't wish for them to bring back the characters and locations (especially not the locations).

Whatever its called next, they best base the next GTA off of San Andreas.
Full character customization,airplanes/helicopters,and large variety of weapons.
Make it fun, nobody cares about graphics when it comes to GTA.

I'd just be happy of San Adreas was given a graphical improvement and achievements then ported to console, if only because San Adreas 2 would take a ridiculous amount of time to develop.
Ported to console? I played the real one on my PS2.
Oh shi-

I mean ported to current-gen consoles 360 and PS3... also for the Wii on the condition it came with a tailored version that made full use of motion control.
Realistic drivebys for the win!

That's what the Wii needs: some support from the big games from last gen like San Andreas. Or even a San Andreas Stories; preferably featuring Catlina as the protagonist.

I feel like San Andreas was the pinnacle of success for R*. It's in my top 3 ps2 game list (maybe even at the top of it) and it really had so much packed into it - and I really appreciated that. Since then they've been flailing around with serious games that try to be more realistic. And that's fine but I didn't even feel like gta4 was a real gta game. Saints Row 2 did feel more like a R* title than gta4.

Yea, San Andreas 2 would be great to see but I have a bad feeling it just wouldn't be as good as the original San Andreas. The only game this gen that's given me that same "anything can and will happen... and listen to that radio" feeling is Fallout 3.

Hopefully R* can pull out of their funk but it seems they don't want to.
