Is portal hard?

Okay, so I have a bet going on with a friend that I can't beat portal. Because apprently, Im stupid. So..... Is it hard or decently easy?

Anyone with a reasonable grasp of how bodies move in space will find it easy, for the most part. The difficulty curve is nicely done. Each level is sign-posted with the tricks that you need to combine to solve it. Some of the levels make you think a bit - but nothing too challenging.

its average, there will be points where you need 10-20 mins to figure out what to do, and when you do you will face palm yourself multiple times as all solutions are realy quite simple

It's not hard at all. Challenging sometimes at most. You should have no difficulty completing it in 2.5 hours if you have more than 3 braincells. Also, make sure you haven't eaten before you play. Trust me it works encouraging.

No, its not hard, but you will make mistakes in the later levels before you figure out what to do.

It took me longer than 5 hours and I still didn't get to beat it. Though that wasn't straight playing and puzzle type games typically take me longer. Plus I like to look around at the environment and stuff. My computer has crashed so no PC gaming and no finishing it on Steam ATM and the playstation, my file got deleted thanks to my best friends ex girlfriend being a *****.

OT: Portal isn't hard. Its quite fun and has its moments of being slightly challenging.

hm, I don't know what answer you are really looking for because most of what you are gonna see in this thread is a typical case of internet-pride.

OT: sometimes the game is easy and sometimes less so, but as mentioned, in the end all solutions will feel simple and obvious, if you fail repeatedly, you are most likely doing it wrong; find an other solution.

No. Well, the advanced chambers can require a bit of thinking the first time you try them but the original Portal is about 3 hours long if I remember correctly.

It's only hard if you over-think it or make it more complicated than it actually is. The hardest parts are outside the test chambers because you have to play where-waldo for walls you can portal gun and actually work out where you're meant to go.

It's a rather easy game.

Admittedly, I did get stuck on a couple of chambers. But that was due to me being thick rather than the game being hard.

It's easy, if you get how it works.
It can be played really fast if you rush through it and know the puzzles.
If you don't know the puzzles or are in no rush, it takes about 9 hours.

If you only going for the campaign then yeah 3 hours is a good time for a first try.

Well, I'm apparently dumber than dirt because it took me more than 3 hours. Then again, I'm anal when it comes to checking every corner for secrets, and I messed up quite a few times...

But yeah, OP, it shouldn't take you more than 5 hours.

That's not very nice. It took me around six. I just took my time. Not everyone is a really skilled or fast gamer, you know.

It's not "hard" per se. It may be a bit complex, sometimes it may take you a ridiculously long time to figure out the trick for a puzzle. But no, it's not very "hard".

It took me about 3 hours, and the last levels kicked my ass. But when you figure it out, it's so easy.

Portal 1 took me about 5-6 hours to complete first time.

Portal 2 took me about 8-9 hours to complete, the only time I ever played it.
