Is Risk the worst board game ever made?

I just spent 4 hours rolling dice hundreds of times. Just try and tell me there is something worse out there.

Edit: It's just so poorly designed. You roll a die for every unit in an invasion. And this is a game where it comes with unit counters in 1s, 5s, and 10s, and you can get 20+ units every turn. That's an additional 20 dice rolls added in a single turn, every turn. That's not even counting the huge dumps of units from making sets of conquest cards that can drag out a game for an hour even if a player is on the verge of defeat. There's no rules for handling large battles other than to break them down into 3v2 unit skirmishes and rolling dice over and over and over, constantly breaking down larger units for change until one side finally runs out of soldiers or quits. Whatever fun strategy could be had in this game is lost to the tedium of rolling dice for hours on end.

No, Full House was a shit show. Seinfeld is a case of Seinfeld is Unfunny. Only because so many shows copied its style of humor afterward. I says this, and I'm not even a fan of Seinfeld.

Seinfeld has made me laugh. And I have not seen a single show that copied Seinfeld at all.

It's got loads of themed variants, so it's popular, somehow.

It's certainly one of the driest games (if not the driest) out there, I'll give you that, but as for the worst, haven't the faintest, since I don't really play board-games. You should've played Coup, much more fun (particularly while not-quite-drunk) and certainly more compact.

Played according to the rules, Monopoly is probably worse than Risk, but with a full Monopoly set you can play Illuminopoly, which is fun, and no similarly fun variant exists for Risk. Therefore, Risk is probably the worst.

Just type in Seinfeld is unfunny and TV tropes. Going to the live-action TV section. There's all the proof you need.

Just this whole episode alone can make me laugh hard.

I never said it can't make you laugh or is unfunny. That's just the title of the tropes. There are clips and episodes me laugh. Like I said before type it in so you can get context. Not going to link everything for you. Plus, I'm at work right now.

And fucking TALISMAN.

But seriously, just about any board game made before this century is pretty bad (there's a few good ones but not many). Board games seriously didn't "git gud" until the last 10-15 years and they've been amazing over that period. There's so many generally known games like aforementioned Risk, Monopoly, Catan, Cards Against Humanity, Munchkin and more that are just plain bad games.

Most good board games don't have you rolling dice for combat.

Curb Your Enthusiasm since they're both created by Larry David.

The worst board game would be Life. It's one of those dumb luck games where you're given a specific goal and no agency for trying to get there.

Vanilla Risk sucks. But they make a Legacy version which has like evolving mechanics in the game and things grow and are different every time you play which adds an interesting dynamic to the traditional game.

I think most of the well known Hasbro boards games all suck ass.

Sorry
Monopoly
Risk
Connect Four
Clue

Etc etc etc

Don't be dissing Clue, Connect 4, and Monopoly (mainly the regular or credit card version; all of the other dumb versions are free game). Risk was okay, but I'm not a fan. Never played the Legacy version. Sorry is just an easier version of Parcheesi. With that said, I wouldn't exactly call it crap.

At least you can finish a game of life in under an hour and not spend all your time rolling dice over and over and over for each of the 40 units taking place in a battle.

I've probably started more games of Risk than I have finished, but to be honest I like a good long board game match.

If you hate Risk, try Diplomacy. It has a similar idea, but you only need to control half the map to win, and there are no dice anywhere.

Each map region can hold one unit. If a unit attempts to move into a region that another unit is in, it's repelled; if two units move into the same region, they repel each other. However, you can support adjacent units to help them invade or defend a region. And this is where it gets fun: you can support other people's units, too.

Nobody is strong enough on their own at the start of the game, but only one person can win, meaning that alliances get made, broken, remade and ignored as the game continues. It's great fun, and a good palate cleanser after a bad game of Risk.
