Is the Wii Laser Zapper worth it?

Is it worth it, cause I don't know if it's any fun, and I so far don't know of any good shooters for the Wii. Unless Umbrella Chronicles and Red Steel is good.

EDIT: If you have suggestions for good shooters for the Wii, do tell. Also, if you have opinions on the Nyko Perfect Shot, feel free to post that too.

Red steel would be a very bad reason to buy the zapper, mainly for the samurai sword battles.

The Wii zapper is only really any good with on the rail shooters like House of The Dead: Overkill

Link's Crossbow training isn't bad.
However after Resident Evil and House of the Dead you won't really need it again.

In b4 fanboys n haters. (j/k)

But seriously, the Zapper would only be good for either rail shooters like HoTD: OverKill, Ghost Squad, the upcoming Dead Space: Extraction, and fps like Medal Of Honour Heroes 2.

But in my opinion I would recommend a Nyko Perfect Shot. It's a better gun shell and it still keeps the Nunchuck free.

Not worth it. It dosn't make the games more fun to play, at all. If anything it just makes 'em harder.

Red steel isn't a good game, if you haven't already bought it then don't. I bought it cause i thought the sword fights would be cool, think again.
They were the worst part of the game, too many angles to actually execute your combot with enough precision, and just generally bad.
So look at it as a not so impressive shooter. Only decent thing about it is that multiplayer is sortof fun, but prolly only cause it's the only shooter with multiplayer on the wii i know of.
You cannot use the zapper in red steel, it'll screw up, cause of the motion controlls.

If you're looking for a good FPS game for the wii get metroid prime 3, it's a really good game, sort-of remiinds me of sci-fi fps zelda if that makes any sense.

I have both, but I don't use eaither. The shells are only useful for rail shooters, and pretty useless even then, because they give you almost no access to the buttons.

It works pretty well in Medal Of Honour Heroes 2, and it works well in Ghost Squad also, but yes for games where you have to use the buttons it would be useless.

The Zapper is actually more of a hindrance than an enhancement to most games that support it, and there aren't that many games that support it to begin with. That being said, it's worth it to pick it up if only for Link's Crossbow Training, which I think is the sole reason most people bought one.

Oh, and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and House of the Dead: Overkill so far are the only two rail shooters worth purchasing. RE: Darkside Chronicles and Dead Space: Extraction are coming soon, and both look promising.
