Is there a way of running a search for repeat image files in the hard drive?

I mean files with different names or extensions but containing the same image. Is there a way of running such a search, maybe a software for that? I'm asking cause I'm trying to clean the hard drive of as much chaff as possible and I keep finding dozens of repeat images evey time I clean up.

I'd post his on the advice forum but you know. Any directions welcome.
