Is there a way "un-force" fullscreen for games that don't have that option?

For games that don't have an option to turn off full screen is there a way to override it manually? I'm not talking about fullscreen vs. windowed mode. I am referring to my set up of two monitors hooked up to my computer. Some games have the on/off switch for this feature thus allowing me to have something different on my second monitor, such as a web browser when the option is off. For games that don't have this option or in games which allow you to enable it the second screen turns black displaying just the game itself on my main monitor.

Is there a way to get around this? For some games it's nice to have something visible on the second screen such as something you want to reference while playing the game.

Thanks.

I've only encountered a few games that black out my second monitor, the most annoying being Civ 5 because I like to watch movies while playing multiplayer. Sometimes alt+tabing out of the game and then back in will unblack out the second monitor.

Also, try windowed borderless mode if that is an option.

Pressing alt+enter may also fix it sometimes.

I'm pretty sure you can download some software that will forces games to not black out your second monitor, try googling something.

If you make a shortcut of the .EXE to your desktop:
1. Right-click and go down to "Properties".
2. Find the "Target:" section in the middle of the "Shortcuts" Tab.
3. At the end next to the Target Name type " -Window"
(Example: "C:\Program Files(x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\JediOutcast.exe" -window )

I can't guarantee that will work but that's what I do for older games that don't have Windowed as an option. And it doesn't let you choose the window size (that I know of).

I've only encountered one game that blacked out the 2nd monitor, it put up the game's logo during the menus, and showed me the map during matches.

What games are doing this? Demonchaser27's fix might work, but that's simply including a parameter, and not all programs will respond to that...
