Is there any "film buff" youtuber that talks about movies other then Superheroes and Star Wars?

Most YouTube "critics" wouldn't know a movie if it wasn't based on a comic book.
Most of them also feel the need to pander or put on a comedy act.
I recommend try reading (crazy!) reviews from actual film critics. Check out Variety, Indiewire, Ebert's old page.
You know, professionals.

Now a digitally remastered 4K version [of El Topo] in original language and 15 different subtitles is only about two mouseclicks away. It's like an all you can eat buffet of great, overlooked movies just waiting to be discovered and analyzed.
Eww, Netflix.

According to some, just merely saying something already makes you a critic.

I doubt any of these guys would dare to watch Raging Bull or Lawrence of Arabia.

This is the point where you might have reason to assume that I may, on occasion, procure movies through means that might not be entirely in accordance with the copyright laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Mark Kermode? I mean, he's also radio and television, but I use youtube to view him, so am basically counting it. He's a jolly fella.
Few things are more pleasurable than Kermode getting really angry.

So that movie no merits at all The English Patient?

Why did it won Best Picture?
Go check out a list of all Best Picture winners and see how many are actually memorable or even remembered at all.
I am confident those "unmemorable movies" are still better then the schlock that comes out of Hollywood these days.

I often have a saying that the Oscars DO have better taste in movies then what's popular.

And I support not having such movies in the Best Picture categories. Slumdog Millionaire had the more original premise and plot then Dark Knight which is just another Superhero action movie.

You've seen his reaction to Fred: The Movie, yes?

Netflix has the 4K, so I had to assume. My favorite totally legit and respectable movie site "only" has El Topo in HD.

Leon Thomas/Renegade Cut is a guy who does a video per week just about and doesn?t primarily do superhero or Star Wars. It?s largely a philosophical viewing of a film and its themes whether the films are recent or old, blockbuster or indie, good or bad, etc. Ryan Hollinger similarly almost never talks about those two giant franchises, but focuses a lot more on scarier and more mature material like thrillers and horror films, often analyzing the plot and other elements of the film and saying what works and what doesn?t on a more emotional level.

Rossatron and GoodBadFlicks. Ross generally covers action movies, but he has some superhero stuff. GBF mostly covers b-grade horror, Sci-fi, and action films. I highly recommend both; especially the former. just recently he has a video with the editor of the recent Mission Impossible films. And he has a video with Scott Atkins on his most recent movie The Accident Man. Which is based off of a non superhero comic book.
Wait what? I missed Rossatron's Adkins video? Sweet. Now I have something else to fill time until Triple Threat comes out... if it ever does.

On topic: A couple of channels that I enjoy are Movies with Mikey and Patrick (H) Willems. They do have superhero movie videos, but they do a lot of other stuff as well. Patrick does a lot of video essays and shorts. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't do actual movie reviews. They're both fairly insightful.

I'm not comparing them to shlock movies currently, but to other much more respected and memorable movies from back in the day.

Only when it's in genres they respect -- have you seen the state of Best Animation?

Titanic didn't exactly have an original premise either, but it won because of the overall filmmaking on display. That's what movies need to be judged on, and sometimes the Academy gets this right.

Titanic must have been something if it made that much money.

I also like to mention that just because one movie won does not exclude the quality of the other nominated movies for Best Picture.

Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, and Shawshank Redemption are all still great movies regardless if Forrest Gump won.

There are two guys I like for specific things. Cynical Historian for anything with a historical context. He puts everything into it's context and point out when they are inaccurate and when that effects the movie.

Another vote for Lindsey Ellis though i will also mention Kyle Kallgren of "Brows Held High" for more obscure or fundamental analysis of films

As for the reason behind the amount of pop culture related videos: it's a matter of knowing the audience and while I understand how tiring that gets, there are still people, books and what not that talk about other forms of film.

The movie or the lukewarm defence? Because the latter is pretty entertaining. I'm never going to watch the movie either.

There's this one. He's pretty insightful.

Beat me to it. If you want "not the mainstream stuff" this guy is probably the guy to go to, most of the stuff he talks about veers to the obscure. And his discussion of The Fall is what made me go watch The Fall and it is now one of my favourite movies, so theres that
