I mean, judging by most games nowdays, everyone sounds like they come from north america.

How many games are there that's got a character with an accent?

And no, team fortress doesn't count, since that game doesn't have a main character.

The title is misleading; they still have an accent, even if it's from North America.

And on topic, Simon the Sorceror and Discworld both have main characters with British accents (Chris Barrie and Eric Idle respectively) .

Violet in Velvet Assassin has a British accent, if that counts...

Other than that... nothing comes to mind.

In Dreamfall I believe the main character has a British accent.

What, any accent that's not 'North American'? Uh, GTA: SA and GTA 4 off the top of my head. Then there's Sheva in Resi 5, pretty much any character from the Getaway games, many characters from DnD RPGs such as Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights...I've not even scrateched the surface. To list them all would take me far too long.

Ezio from the upcoming Assassin's creed 2 has an accent although can we count that since it might change?

Yeah, even if you're from North America you still have an accent.

Anyways, the new game The Saboteur has you playing as an Irishman.

I don't know if this counts but the Brother Captain from the first Dawn of War has a weird pseudo-British accent.

Wait, he gets an accent, but Altair doesn't?

An American accent. Everyone else around him had a Middle Eastern or European accent, but he stuck out like a sore thumb in terms of accent.

Not sure if this counts but in Saints Row 2 you can give your character one of a number of accents. I chose a (slightly over the top) cockney accent for mine

How you managed to miss Niko Belloc, star of one of the most successful games of all time, is beyond me.

Not to mention Mario, star of the most successful FRANCHISE of all time. Mama mia!
