Does anyone remember myst? or, if you want a more recent example, decay? Those bastions of the point and click adventure genre, as dated as a fossil in terms of gameplay but loved by many for their atmosphere? This game has none of that atmosphere, and is a reminder of just why the genre has faded into insignificance (with the notable exception of Telltale Games' forays).
