Wonderfully stated. I enjoyed Final Fantasy III as a 12th birthday gift, and have never failed to smile whenever thinking about my time spent with it. For me, the future FF installments just never quite captured the same magic, the same triumph of human spirit, or the same memorable characters. It was a joy to read this article, and to hear the observations of another who was as taken by it as I.

That game is the #2 reason i still hail the SNES as the greatest achievment in modern console video gaming.
The first being [stereotype] chrono trigger. That was my big christmas gift for that year. Twas the end of the lifespan for the system. These two games were my first experience with emotional attatchment and empathy for the game charachters. I truly gave a crap weather or not my adventurous party would triumph over adversity to thwart the evil entities threatening the world.
Tis a shame i havent had the time to churn through a decent RPG since... ohmygoodness...FFX? i didnt even finish X, the last real RPG i finished was FF7.
