It seems that our follow British are a little salty on the 4th. Were moreso celebrating our founding than our independance however. In light of this, we should have a thread saying nice things to British folk to make this 4th easier on them. Ill start.

I think British people have the cutest accents. Your turn!

The British disgust towards the froggies is an inspiration to us all. May we all one day stand united, as a world, against the tyranny of pretentious wines and boiled snails.

Are we salty about the 4th now? That thing happened ages ago and i've yet to hear anyone in the UK ***** about "them Yankees and their stupid independence" over my 22 years.

I'm moaning over a thread dedicated to complimenting my country, maximum Britishness there. National pastime is bitching about literally everything and anything (especially the French) followed by kicking a ball about. Then bitching about the ref totally making the wrong call, that fucking wanker.

Thank you for Terry Pratchett. He was great. Shakespeare wasn't bad, either.

The British weren't that upset over yesterday, what are you guys doing to annoy them? :)

Anyway, thank you Britain for not collapsing during WWII. It would have really sucked for my families to find German tanks in North America; your navy stopped that. I also really like your fish and chips, your actors are hilarious and I find your history a mix of both boring bureaucratic nightmares and heroic figures.

[small]Less thankful for the whole treatment of indigenous peoples thing that has remained a cultural issue throughout the Commonwealth but that's something Canada has to take some responsibility for too so I'm not too upset at you for it. At least you abolished slavery.[/small]

Thanks for the whole "not sending your full military force to crush our nascent rebellion" thing. Kinda worked out really well for us!

Also, I love your accents and none of you would be the bad guys in any movie I made.

Your women have a very sexy accent. I think it actually gets sexier as they get older.

Oh I've also watched my fair share of british porn. Pretty good if i do say so myself

Oh right, july the 4th. Don't know why OP thinks Brits are especially salty on this day, had I not seen this topic for example, I'd genuinely not have thought about what is a foreign national holiday to me xD

Anyways we Brits usually don't like it when people are being randomly nice to us, it's so strange and out of the blue. Or maybe that's just me as a Londoner, apparently we are all pricks here. A "say something sarcastic to British folk" would have been better imo.

I would like to thank Great Britain from the very bottom of my heart. You have provided the world with Neil Gaimen, Tom Baker (the best Doctor), and most importantly Monty Pythons Flying Circus.

Thank you.

Your strange humor, esoteric slang, blowy seas and uncanny ability to be a presenter for anything and instantly make it sound more interesting is enough that, when the aliens come to invade earth and kill and enslave everyone, the world should look to you people, and your leader Ricky Gervais. Meeting should go well.

Sorry for being a little dim but why am I meant to be salty on the forth? It's not like up on the significant days (like st Patrick day or st George's day) ... the only significant 4th I know of is may ... so it's pretty insignificant and was over a month ago.

As for something nice to say about us? We are really good at coming up with sports and then being bad at them.

Let's see now... Shakespeare, Doctor Who, performers of all kinds worthy of being knighted, James Bond, jellybabies, Sherlock Holmes, Blake's 7, Queen, The Beatles, other great bands, Black Adder, Top Gear, The Science of Stupid, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Not Only But Also, H.G. Wells, and let's not forget...

We thank England for their contribution to the war to end all wars. Not enough people properly acknowledge that, I think.

Now, I may be part Irish and know plenty of history from my father on matters involving the British, but I also know that the people responsible for the problems of the past are quite dead. Frankly, people die every day. As long as we're all more decent with each other, I think we'll get along fine.

Hi, English man here. Great thread and thanks for all the compliments and such but I can tell you that nobody over here gives even the tiniest of fucks about 4th July. I have met a few Americans in my life and they were (mostly) very nice people but honestly many of us kind of see you lot getting independance as us dodging a bullet.......

No I am from the Midlands and I hate random strangers being nice as well. I always assume the person in question either wants money or to talk about Jesus. Lukly it is never the latter.
