From the one and only, Bioshock. One of the games that disproves Thompson's theory that violence in games = bad. In this game, it fits in the theme.ssgt splatter said:Jack Thompson, would you kindly stand in front of a speeding freight train?
Cookie to those who get the reference.
You sir should be the one who goes to hell for being such an arrogant prick.
If and when this man gets into a car wreck and dies, no one outside his family will miss him.
OT: Man, what a way to lose the argument by yourself. This just shows that he doesn't want to convince gamers that violence is bad, he wants to force it down our throats, as he has no respect for what we think.
Seriously, how in any way is the effect of games any different than the effect of movies and books when they reached the point where they could do anything? When movies came, it was so immersive that people rejected the violence, now it's happening to games. I've never had a murderous thought in my life (unless you count OCD-ish thoughts), and I've played video games since I was 2, and my first violent game was when I was 5. 5! I've never tried to hurt anybody, the only thing that is possibly aggressive is that I enjoy death metal. Games doesn't cause insanity, it stops it.
