Bloody hell. It's like he was somehow traumatised by Pong at an early age or something.
Hahahahaha That hit my funny bone!

This guy is a twit and has already been noted it seems like a desperate call for attention. The video idea is kind of amusing though in a juvenile way, Ol' Jack sure has pissed a lot of people off over the years.

I wonder what this man thinks as he goes about living his life.

I wonder what people will think, if they ever, as they look back on his life.

One of those who are focused but mislead, spending the remaining years on his life on something so misguided.

I actually pity him.

It's not too late to turn back Jack Thompson, go have some fun, go to the beach, play with kids, smell the roses, there are no evil videogames there.

Jack Thompson Sues Facebook

Former lawyer Jack Thompson has sued Facebook [http://www.facebook.com] for allowing anti-Thompson groups to post messages that have caused him "great harm and distress."

Thompson was permanently disbarred [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/86463-Jack-Thompson-Disbarred-UPDATED] in September 2008 but that didn't stop his vocal criticism of the videogame industry, nor did it soften the attitude of videogamers toward Thompson and his strident rhetoric, many of whom have come together in Facebook groups to share their frustration with his antics. But Thompson says he feels threatened by some of the messages posted by those groups and on Tuesday, he filed suit against Facebook for letting it happen.

There are hundreds of Thompson-related Facebook groups, according to Jack Thompson should be smacked across the face with an Atari 2600 [http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2009/09/30/urnidgns852573C40069388000257641006CC596.DTL]." He also cited a message posted by a user who offered to pay $50 to anyone who sent him a video of themselves punching Thompson in the face.

He said his situation is similar to that of U.S. President Barack Obama, who was recently the subject of another Facebook controversy caused by a poll asking whether or not he should be shot. Facebook administrators quickly removed the poll but as Thompson noted, "Unlike our President, Thompson does not have the Secret Service to protect him."

But Thompson's suit against Facebook, like most of his others, has little chance of going anywhere, according to WiredSafety.org Executive Director Parry Aftab, who noted that the U.S. Communications Decency Act exempts services like Facebook from liability for what people do with them. "They are no more liable than the phone company would be for anyone who is calling in a ransom demand," she said.

Regardless of the legal merits of his case, however, this isn't the sort of attention gamers need. It may seem like a joke to anyone familiar with Thompson (although in the case of the $50 face-punch bounty, it's hard to say there's not some measure of seriousness involved) but to those on the outside looking in, it can appear more serious. Would anyone ever smack Thompson across the face with an Atari 2600? Of course not. (Those things cost money, you know.) But without context, it looks like a threat; and we, the gamers, end up looking like juvenile idiots or, worse, the violent psychos Thompson has worked so hard to make us out to be. Thompson never learned how to tone it down and it cost him his career. We don't need to make the same mistake.

Why does he continue this charade? Why continue to intervene in our affairs when already their are examples of what the internet can do as a whole when they feel threatened by someone or something, (4chan vs ATT), does he not realize that if everyone decides to mobilize against his actions that he'll have no job and nowhere to go?

Ok-hay, guess I'll go sue makers of Nazi related violence for making them seem all bad'n stuff, and in the meanwhile, I'll sue my cup for spilling water on the nice wall, heck this link explains all the suing I would do, just a tad 'suier' and stuff. . .

Anyone else notice how Jack Thompson is using the Scientology strategy to stop people from saying anything about him?

I love it when JT does ridiculous shit like this.
Its more entertaining than watching all the zero punctuations at once while mentally channeling the three stooges.
(not sure if punctuations in the right plural.)

BTW I am glad that JT is still around.
like Tycho from penny arcade said if we get rid of him someone more credible mite take his place.

I would punch him for £10! Oh who am I kidding,I would punch him for 10p! For a lawyer(well,ex-lawyer)Thompson seems to be really ignorant of human rights. Loads of people are threatened on the internet and get over it. Theres a big difference between jokingly threatening to hit someone with a vintage console and plotting to assassinate a world leader!

I admit I skipped over 6 pages here, guessing it'd mostly be 'Jack Thompson is a tit', and I'm in full agreement, however...

HOW can he afford this crap? Surely you have to occasionally win a case as a lawyer to earn money? also, who's hiring him, he only ever seems to follow his own agenda, I know he used to sometimes find a rich loony parent to throw money at him because their kid was killed by a hit and run driver, and the guy driving had once seen Wacky Races on Nickelodeon, but damn.

I think I'm moving into law if I can earn his kinda money, just by messing around, and keeping one old running joke going for over 20 years.

Please world, STOP hiring Jack Thompson, stop giving him the money, and stop giving him the oxygen of publicity, and in fact, if we can just stop giving him oxygen it would help.

That's me up for a lawsuit :D

Haha, JT's trying to stop people talking about him now?

Way to screw freedom of speech.

There's something so idiotic about Jack Thompson I find myself questioning if it isn't some sort of incredibly deep trick. Like he actually has more than 3 brain cells and is just doing all of this for the sport of it. Think about it >.>
