I'm not sure it would be great as the '80 version was but I'll still go watch it to make the decision myself :)

Yeah, see the trouble with all this rose-tintedness is that Karate Kid was one of those things that was great in the eighties, but when looked back on with sober reflection (or even mildly drunk reflection) are actually a complete bag of toss.

Jackie Chan aside, this is painful to watch.

This kid makes Anakin Skywalker in the Phantom Menace look like Brando.

...I would be fine with this movie, but then I saw that it will be called "The Karate Kid". At which point, I said- er, well, more like fired my middle finger so powerfully I left a dent in the wall 8 feet away.

I think that this really could've been called anything else and I'd be fine, but calling it "The Karate Kid"? And then I checked and yes, it's a remake? Dear God, kill the team.
