Am I the only one who thinks that robot looks really fugly? Especially compared to the other robot, honestly, I think this city was just jealous of the other city and wants to out do them but throw together the designs to quickly and, well... Came up with that.

Neither one was "designed" by the people who built it. The first one was the titualr Mech from the Gundam series, The originator or the "real robot" sub-genre. This one is the tiular Mech Tetsujin 28-go, The originator of the "super robot" genre.

I can only assume they were chosen for what they have added to the field. Not what they look like.

The only thing Amerca can build giant mech-wise would be a Mad Cat and even early Battlemechs were stolen from Japanese shows.

Anyways, a Warhammer IIC would probably be cooler (Personal opinion)

Oddly enough, the Warhammer IIC is a refit of the original Warhammer 'mech that was a direct theft of Robotech, so it was, in essence, a mix of Western and Eastern mechs, ending up as the coolest thing ever made.
