Jim, I think we need to quarantine you from interacting with Dodger for a while, no Co-optional podcasts for at least a couple of weeks. I can tell she's a bad influence on you, as you're sitting there with your tea, drinking in front of a camera. If this goes on you'll suddenly have blue hair or be wearing some kind of animal costume!

... come to think of it, that might be quite amusing.

In all seriousness though, I'm sad to see this end, as it was a good bit of amusement in the middle of the week. But I'm looking forward to see what the two of you might be working on next.

Awwww! I've been following this every week since it started! It's not the most appealing show demographic wise but it's so.... DIFFERENT from everything on this site. Le sigh....

Two minds:
1) Yahtzee and Jim are great, both politically and in terms of talent, and everything they do should be successful.

2) I don't like poetry and rarely watched this show, because even with such great performers behind it I got very little enjoyment out of the Rhymedown Spectacular.

So, here's hoping that their new show does well, because it deserves to. And that it's not a musical. I don't exactly oppose musicals, I just know I won't watch it if that's what it ends up being.

Thank you both for your efforts.

It's been fun, and funny, and occasionally, downright disgusting. But I still appreciate it.

I think Yahtzee won this week...

OT: Holy crap! I don't know how to feel about a finale such as this... On one hand, I did not see it coming... but, on the other hand, I don't think I wanted to see it coming in the first place...

Anyway, this whole series was really awesome to watch... Dare I say it contributed to me finally diving into the Escapist forums just so that I could make a thread about haikus[footnote]in which I did in the Forum Games section for my 135th overall post... which lead to some other stuff that's not important right now...[/footnote], but I digress...

Now, to spend the rest of my future Wednesdays just re-watching all of the videos until the next Jimahtzee corssover...

I think maybe the reason it wasn't more popular is because people didn't know what to expect each week which made it harder to get excited for it, whereas Zero Punctuation: Arkham Whatever tells us pretty much what we're getting and thus we're more likely to click on it.

Publish the poems! Give us the book. Use kickstarter if you have to.
Seconded. It'd basically be free money for content you've already created. I wouldn't be surprised if some Escapists were willing to contribute artwork as well.

Thanks for making something a little different chaps.

Sad to see one of my favorites cease to be, but happy that future team ups await.

Hopefully the poetry will still make an occasional appearance in your other works, this art needs to live on!

Well, Yahtzee didn't do anything special.
I thought that his poem may have been obliquely referencing the fact that Jim and himself had "talked about it, and agreed this routine's overrated".

Rhymedown Spectacular has been glorious, although at points you could tell Jim's heart wasn't in it. It would have been nice to have something more...spectacular to end the series, but it had a good run.

To be completly honest, I would gladly give up Movie Defense Force if it meant you guys could get more time to do this show unless that's the reason it's cancelled.
Edit: Oh and about the "competition". The show IS called "Rhymedown Spectacular" Rhymedown= Showdown, Throwdown. Safe to assume it was a competition until you specifically told us it wasn't.

So, the show gets cancelled and, for I believe the first time ever, it gets more comments than Zero Punctuation.

Well the first two episodes scored more than the Zero Punctuations of those weeks, as did this one.

Meanwhile this week's Zero Punctuation is looking like it'll end up in joint second-to-least commented on (with Tabula Rasa at 45, and Lost Planet 3 is at 43).

... God damn it!

I should have been more strict with my viewing schedule for this show.

Would anyone at the Escapist be able to say what the approximate average weekly viewership was for the Rhymedown near the end? Ballpark, was it hundreds? Thousands? If it's a completely private matter then nevermind, I am merely curious.

Too bad... I really liked this series. Still, these two great minds can definitely dream up something bigger and better. ;) Can't wait to see what's in store!
