I really enjoyed this one, looking forward to the next. The majority of the time I was just waiting for Johnny to crack it.

The censoring was annoying but didn't really ruin it, still stupid though.

The censorship makes it absurdly stupid.

Yes, it is wrong.

"I haven't worked since power rangers went off the air."

I want the next MK DLC to have a power ranger outfit for Johnny Cage in it.

I think this was the weakest episode so far, the edited language and focus on Johnny Cage really did nothing for me. But having said that I still plan on watching next week.

Also Is anyone else getting the feeling that after the season finally WB is going to release an uncensored DVD or edit all 10 or so parts into a "movie" and release that on DVD.

EDIT: did get a few laughs out of seeing Ed Boon and the Power Rangers joke.

I've watched the episode now, I really liked this one a lot, moreso than the Jax/Sonya/Kano arc.

Especially liked all the digs at modern TV, I related to it from working in film and dealing with producers and some of the shit. Loved the fact they had an Ed Boon cameo as well, it also felt very different from the other story, it's nice to see they've all got a distinct style between them in terms of the atmosphere to match the characters.

You got caged.

I see, your fucking compelling argument has really given me a fucking change of heart. Never mind my shitty fucking opinion about how being berated with a copious (excuse me, I mean, fucking huge) amount of cocksucking bad words might not sit well with some pussy motherfuckers. Fuck all people who think that censoring fucking bad words is a good fucking idea. Censorship never fucking helps, and fuck the fact that an un-fucking-censored version is releasing pretty fucking soon, I want to hear people fucking swear and sake fuck and shit. Fuck!

(Dearest moderators: Obvious sarcasm, please don't put me on probation or ban me for the swearing, I'm merely trying to prove a point. If the language is too much, feel free to censor the swears or ask me to, but I suppose that would prove my point anyway. Thank you, a conscience and not expletive-crazed board member, HigherTomorrow)

Really liked this episode even though it wasn't quite as action packed as the rest.
Also seems like a good story as to why Cage would fight in the Tournament in the first place.

Really liking these on the whole. I also like all the little Easter eggs they incorporate into each show - just like they do in the game.

I'm not that fussed about the language censoring, I mean it wasn't that often and you know what they're saying right... I don't get why people are all up in arms about a total of 3 seconds of censored audio where you can make out what they're saying anyway - and if it does really bother you that much, then wait until Friday sheesh. Bitching for bitchings sake.
I just hope they haven't censored any of the visuals because that would be a shame.

Easily-offended old men and children have problems with swearing. It's Mortal Kombat; you have no problem with people ripping off and devouring other people's heads, but saying fuck makes you cringe? Don't know about you, but the swearing seemed to fit the context. Too bad they pussied out.

If you're worrying about children, you shouldn't. This wasn't made for them in the first place. If they are watching, then it's too late and saving them from a few expletives is a rather useless endeavor at this point.

I don't mind the censoring, I just wish they would use a different method other than cutting the sound entirely - at least with the bleeps you know it's being censored and not your sound system inexplicably failing for two seconds. It makes the dialogue choppy.

Boon's cameo was awesome. The cherry on top was Shang Tsung's appearance since now stuff is getting REALLY weird.

I mean, the series has always been about violence, and the target audience are people who have played the games, obviously. It just seems a bit pointless censoring something like this. Now apparently Kano's eye being punched out has been censored too? Why?? Who is it offending? It's Mortal Fucking Kombat! If you're easily offended why are you watching this in the first place?

Now don't get me wrong, I really don't agree with excessive swearing - there is no need. But sometimes it is important, and I think that in these scenes it does so. What annoyed me even more was how they censored it, with the audio drop. At least get a bleep in there - that sounds more professional, rather than a slight pause every now and then.

On topic, I really loved this one. This is my favorite so far, because it humanizes a hot-shot character like Johnny Cage.
Younger viewers. Mortal Kombat. Mature viewers? Mortal Kombat?

You have the wrong show, sir.

Did you just call what I said an "argument"? It wasn't an argument, it was an answer to your question. But if you want an argument - censoring a game/film/show like Mortal Kombat significantly damages immersion, which is why it is very damaging for the production. I would not call this show mature enough to be "dark" or "gritty" - but it is sufficiently in that direction for censorship to seriously damage immersion. In a comedy it wouldn't be.

Also, they are not "bad words", they are swears. And yes, fuck all the fucking morons who think censorship of any kind IN A SHOW ABOUT PEOPLE GETTING THEIR HEADS BASHED IN, KILLED, SHOT AND DESPINED is a reasonable idea.

Censoring Mortal Kombat?

I think that's an Oxymoron.

Edit: Seriously, these are way to damn slow. The plot lines are stupid, even for Mortal Kombat. I think there has been a total of .5 characters that I've been interested in.

And that was Johnny cage. But he kinda sucked.

Do you wanna know why those cheesy Mortal Kombat movies were pretty fun? Because they didn't give a shit.

Subzero froze bitches. Reptile looked sweet. Skorpion had those arm things. It was awesome.

I'm kinda like that too, but I also recognize that the obvious edit when they were clearly saying the word was unnecessary. If you're going to have the word in there and then edit it out, you either should have just removed the words from the script altogether or not censored it at all.

Also, the kids are going to know what word it is, regardless of the censoring. They should have just left it alone. It makes them (the people who decided this course of action) look bad, as well as give the impression that they haven't quite thought through this.

Otherwise, I really liked this episode. I'm looking forward to the uncensored version this Friday.

Also: Kitana and Mileena next week... hot damn.

Hot damn.

I stopped watching as soon as I saw Victor Lucas. I loathe that man.
Good sir, I respectfully disagree with your opinion of Victor Lucas and I propose that we settle this in the gentleman's arena known as MORTAL KOMBAT!
I was pleasantly surprised to see Mr. Lucas in the beginning of this episode. I loved that they did a sort VH1 behind the scenes look at Johnny Cage.

Like everyone else, the censoring bugged me, but I can live with waiting for Friday for the uncensored version. I just hope that the uncensored version of the eye popping scene is floating around somewhere. When I was over at my mother's house yesterday, I showed her that clip (she's a big Mortal Kombat fan) and I was kind of confused when that scene ended so abruptly.

Man, I cannot wait until they break out Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Then shit get's real.
