Well I guess I can cross this of my list of things to see..
It's official, I'm in a world where instead of loved, Joss is hated. Did I die? Is this my personal hell? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!
Haha, I'm sure there will be plenty of people who are going to love this announcement. It just that I personally haven't like anything thing he touched since Buffy. Some of the movies he been involved with were not bad, but after seeing bits of Firefly and Dollhouse I've been turned off his work. I guess we will see what the verdict is on The Avengers and maybe he can redeem himself.

I loved Firefly and liked Dollhouse. Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog was great fun.

I'm hopeful they manage to pull this massive project off.

Wait, now people are hating on the 09 Star Trek movie as well. Ok, someone tell me, did the Wii at least fail epically in this universe?
okay, the 09 Trek movie was an enjoyable action movie- it was slick and stylish, but not very smart, which is the essence of Trek. That's partial to blame on the scriptwriters, but J.J Abrahms unfortunately loves to take credit for everything, even when it's crap. So that's why I don't like him.
On a positive note, go Joss! Nice to see someone whose brought so many "out-there" things to the screen, finally get some mainstream success.

Um... Yes? I mean it sold well, but Nintendo sold out it's hard core fans and it took 3 years for them to fix the hardware issues. (Of course this years E3 they did fix many, if not all of those mistakes. So they failed when it first came out, but they have so far have won most of us back.)

[sub]I mean who doesn't want a 3DS?[/sub]

So they're going to hand the coolest thing in the world to the dude who made the epic fail Doll House? Good lord it's going to suck.....

Well, I suppose it certainly could be worse. What I've seen from Joss I haven't really enjoyed. Never gave Firefly a chance, though.

Hope it turns out well.
Wait, did I walk into the Twilight Zone?
Ahem. ALIEN: RESURRECTION.

No, no Twilight Zone here.
Huh? Joss had nothing to do with that (well, in my universe anyways).

That was him? Well now I'm definitely not seeing it.
No, it wasn't. Want to know something? You know TvTropes? It was founded by a bunch of Buffy fanboys. Joss made Buffy. Joss is the reason TvTropes exists.
He wrote Alien: Resurrection (IMDB). He then blamed all the actors and the director for how bad it was. And it was written bad. BAAAAD. So, yeah, when this guy fails, he blames everyone around him and distances himself from the project.

What is wrong with you guys?

This is the most epic thing I heard all goddamn day (and I really don't like using that word for anything).

The worst thing that can happen is they cancel it.

Oh right, I forgot that this was the Escapist. All you people hate things here for the sake of hatred.
That explains it. The Escapist is this universe's /b/.
I haven't even heard of TvTropes nor do I care to.

Also The Escapist being like /b/? You really have never been there have you?

Edit: /b/ isn't something to fear or hate, just avoid.

Try watching ALL of Firefly. Seeing bits and pieces will cause it to not make sense. Have you seen Angel?
Yeah actually I totally forgot about that! Angel was pretty good, though not as good as Buffy was. I think the problem with Firefly is that the whole space future thing does not appeal to me at all. Space as a theme really puts me off things, I think the only space based thing I've seen and liked recently was the Star Trek movie.

My prediction, quite simply, all the male characters will either be dumb or worthless, or both. The female characters will all be severely undernourished but will somehow be able to embarrass men three times their size in a fight despite the fact that realistically they'd have about the same effect as a bb gun fired at an M1 Abrams battle tank. Firefly was pretty good (except for the aforementioned anorexic waif beating up hordes of grown men), but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Heck, even the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie was watchable (way more than I can say for the show, which was godawful). So, the way I see it, this broken clock has been the requisite number of times, nothing else good will come of it.

Also, Whedon is everything people hate about nerds with almost none of the good points. He's a boot licking female worshiper who, describes himself as a "male feminist". I don't like female feminists, male ones make me physically ill.
