Did he just invoke Godwin with that Holocaust quote?

I'd say yes, so he loses be default.

I like how he instantly goes to "They travel outside long enough to read this" as opposed to "Oh shit, they actually are outside rather frequently."

He's an anti-gaming hack, hopefully he gets fired, and nobody's going to be able to take him seriously anymore. Karma's a *****, aint it?

This guy is a grade A troll, I'd applaud him for the lengths he appears willing to go in trying to keep trolling the gaming industry, but unlike a normal troll people listen to this idiot.

Any word on 4chan striking out against this douche?
OMG i wish that would happen that would be pure justice

OT: this guy is a smug dick(wonder what that actually looks like) i mean he makes up a story then says well gamers r a bunch of shut ins so why not

He stacked exclamation marks...

That's not even grammatically correct...

This man is paid to write articles for a national newspaper and doesn't even know a basic rule of grammar...

This man makes me ashamed to call myself British... nay, to call myself human.

Oh... Dear... God.

I would say that the Daily Star lost what little credibility they had... but they had none in the first place.

To those who are baffled about why Rhaoul Moat is such a big faff in Britain, is because he is in fact the second person to go on a killing spree within this month, and he also wrote a novel-length letter about how he hates the police, will not stop killing them till he's dead, etc etc - people have been concerned about the connection between the two incidences, how people are reacting to this, etc etc.

To make a fake story like this and not apologise, and infact claim to be a 'real' journalist is not only insulting to the gaming industry (as well as the film and book industry who were also accused of similar fake stories), but highly insensitive to the friends and families of the victims.

Andy, there is NO integrity to be found within that site. As I pointed out in yesterday's topic, this is what they replaced the story with:

This isn't a publication, it's a trashy tabloid that's pretending to be an actual news site. And this man's attitude disgusts me. It would have been low enough if he had just denied that the story is fake, but instead of even that he chooses to insult the people who complained? Well, I'll give the Daily Star credit. Their staff quite obviously deserves to be working for a trashy tabloid magazine.

Baffled by the fury of Daily Star "journalists", these are grown (?!?) men who sit around all day coming up with stories and photoshopping celebrity faces onto porn stars with one another who've today chosen to enter the real world just long enough to complain about gamers who noticed the story slamming a Raoul Moat version of Grand Theft Auto was completely ficticious! You would think they'd denied the Holocaust!!! Think I'll challenge them to a virtual reality duel....stab....I win!!!

Oh wow, it DOES work both ways!

I'd like him to be fired. If he's so quick to insult entire groups of people that he clearly doesn't understand, then his opinions shouldn't be printed into words. We did fuck all wrong here and yet a story about a serial killer has now turned to... video gamers?

I like how journalist is in quotations.

But I mean if you ever wanted a way to generate alot of attention for yourself, while ensuring you'll never have a real job that matters ever, this is probably one of the most effective ways to do it.

Pretty sure this whole thing's falls foul of the Press Complaints Commission's Code of Practice [http://www.pcc.org.uk/cop/practice.html]. Especially part 5i
In cases involving personal grief or shock, enquiries and approaches must be made with sympathy and discretion and publication handled sensitively. This should not restrict the right to report legal proceedings, such as inquests.
Someone file a complaint.

The Daily Star, it is to newspapers as fox is to tv news.

People are complaining that the newspaper is dying as a medium. However it's clear to see why when out of the 6 or 7 popular national newspaper only two approach news with true journalistic integrity - The Independent and The Guardian. Although that can be argued as well.

This reporter is baffled by people playing videogames? I think this reporter would be confused by a game of tennis, or people who don't vote UKIP/BNP.

"What are you guys complaining about? All I did was not research the story and lie!"
-The common excuse of bad journalists and Fox News reporters/commentators.

My only question, who the hell is Raoul Moat? He killed what, 3 people? So what? Honestly? Why would GTA make a game off of him? When the US has how many 30+ serial killers? Not to be mean, or say that what he did was a minor thing, but seriously? Who the hell would believe this?
He killed one guy and failed to kill a policeman with a shotgun to his face.

Also, British Media is full of cunts.
On subject, ignore him. The more fuss he causes, the happier he will be.

If I only I could deliver a kick to that guys nuts. He shouldn't be allowed to procreate.

Funny thing is video games make more money than newspaper business
