I remember playing this back on my dad's C128 and I only saw that last cover. It was a lot of fun though. The remake was ok but the dancing part they added was superfluous.

Fun fact: the reason why old-style text was so fancy was literally because transcribers used to get real bored and would turn the lettering into art to spice up their lives.

Wow, I lol'd hard. I may not think much of Yahtzee as a gaming critic. But he certainly knows how to be a gaming comedian.

He has a fairly rose tinted view of the last century. Lets not forget it contained all of the world wars.

The pirate ship in the first picture seems to me heavily based on Sir Francis Drake's ship, the Golden Hinde (or at least the re-construction of it) - this probably explains both Cerebus the Aardvark and the red hatching round the side:
