I seem to keep confusing Chris Pratt with Chris Evans. Weird.

I guess I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. I liked the first two Jurassic Park films and I can't really remember the third one. But I still don't go to the cinema very often, so I'll probably be waiting until it hits stores/the intertubes.

EDIT: Also, this newest film should've had Jeff Goldblum. Every film needs more Jeff Goldblum.

In fact, calling it now, Jurassic World will have a post-credits scene where Jeff Goldblum approaches Chris Pratt and says, "I want to talk to you about... The Dinovengers Initiative."

The Lost World isn't a great movie, but it has its moments. Pete Postlethwaithe's character is excellent, and there are a few genuinely good moments in the film. It's unfortunate that it gets bogged down with a meandering plot and Julianne Moore and Vince Vaughn's characters being responsible for every single death in the film.

They don't cause every death. What about Peter Stormare who treks a mile away from the team just to take leak? But yeah, fuck Vince Vaughn for taking away Roland's bullets. Not only did it cause everyone else to get murdered, it also took from us what could've been an awesome fight between Roland and the T-Rex.

I've got a weird, tsundere relationship with Jurassic World. I adore Jurassic Park and consider it my favorite movie of all time, but I hate the sequels, so I really don't have any sort of positive expectations for this movie. And yet, I keep checking for new reviews, new releases, and new trailers, all the while going, "Please prove me wrong, please be good, I want to like you so much."

Think about it this way: Sure, Dieter pissed off the compies when he shocked one with a cattle prod, but they wouldn't have wandered off into the forest if Vaughn and Moore hadn't released all the caged dinosaurs. Everything that happened after the camp got wrecked and the T. Rexes destroyed the trailers happened because of Vaughn.

I like to think he didn't show up in the San Diego scenes because he got arrested for his actions on the island.

Wasn't Jurassic Park super scientifically correct with hired scientists and stuff?
Sure by now some stuff is outdated, like the no feathers stuff, and some handwaving had to be done to allow for the premise of the movie to work, but other than that?

Too bad we won't see any feathered Velociraptors in the movie, propably to protect the established canon and fragil minds of the average movie goer.

Honestly those three films has been playing on TV (UK) since Christmas and I am more or less up to date with the stories/ plot. Onward to Jurassic World!

Pretty much way of thinking as well. Except that I do love The Lost World, in a kid-like fashion that is. It's a pretty poor movie all-round though, but we can love some crappy movies from time to time eh.

I just hope that this one is gonna be actually cool. My girlfriend actually got me a poster for the movie, and I mostly want the movie to rock just so I can hang up that poster.

Uh, NO.

They didn't hire a paleontologist. They hired Jack Horner. Who is... technically a paleontologist. In the same way my foot is technically an organism.

EDIT: And to further elaborate, even for what we knew at the time, that first film (Hell, all of them) got a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT of stuff wrong. Like, everything.

saw part 2 in the cinema with my parents and we all didnt like it (damn, this makes me feel old now). the book was so much better. only 3 hunters, not an entire group. no trex in the city.

part 3, oh boy dont get me started on that one.

part 1, yep, still can keep up with today. great movie and still enjoying watching it today.

now with the new installment; well, certainly no high hopes but i hope that at least it will be fun enough to watch. as mentioned in the article: seeing dinos teaming up with humans is a something fresh.

BTW OP its confirmed the second and third film are no longer canon. This is a direct sequel to the first film.
no they're canon They just have nothing to do with this movie except for small references like the pterosaurs from Jurassic Park 3 being shut down near California.

The only flaw I have the first movie is a few shot inconsistenies, but other than that I still loved seeing that movie in 3D with my cousins when I got the chance to... Then again, even if the 3D wasn't going to be good, at least I got to introduce the only good JP movie to my cousins at the time...

I barely remembered the second and third movie (outside of some of 2's camera shots and 3's "Alan" scene), so my expectations for Jurassic World can summed up with this phrase: "It may not be as good as the first one, but at least it's better than the other two movies..."

Everything you need to know about Jurassic Park:
1) Ingen are dicks.
2) Velociraptors are the size of turkeys IRL.
3) Ingen are dicks.
4) Everything is down to chaos theory.
5) Ingen are dicks.
6) Someone from Ingen will realize that they've been dicks all along before being eaten by a Velociraptor much bigger than a turkey.
7) Ingen continue to be dicks, despite one of their own just getting owned.
8) Giant herbivores suddenly turn up to show humans how well dinosaurs can get along without humans, although without at any point explaining why the carnivorous dinosaurs hunted the tiny tiny humans instead of the fucking huge herbivores now on show.
9) Teaser trailer after the credits roll showing Ingen to be dicks.

And yet despite all of that they're really enjoyable films.

That is not true. Trevorrow mentioned the 2nd and 3rd movies are still canon. J-World just happens to act as a direct sequel to #1.

Wu specifically addresses the issue in the movie: he says they originally designed the dinos to be awesome, not realistic.

hell this could be the promotional image for the movie and you would all go see it

I was so excited that I can watch the film on my time off next week that I circled the date with JW next to it on the office calendar...

What I didn't think about at the time was that the calendar is never written on, is only colour coded to show whose shift is on, and the new addition is completely confusing to my team. Kinda awkward when the boss has to admit on the shift handover that he got a bit excited about an upcoming movie and that I was just marking the day I will be seeing it (and then couldn't offer them to come too as they will be working!)

He's not very good in it. He was charismatic in GotG but here he's on dull mode.
