Haven't watched another of those Japanese shows in a while, cause I can't seem to find one that I like. So when you can't do a job, delegate it to someone else. Dub only. I love lots of action and character development.

The usual suspects that I love and already finished.

Death Note
Cow-Boy Bebop
Attack on Titan
Black Lagoon
Claymore
Jormungand
Samurai Champloo
Psycho-Pass
Hellsing Ultimate
Tri-Gun
Steins-Gate
Baccano

Shows that I couldn't stand, usually due to boring characters and slow pacing

GunGrave
Ghost in the Shell
Blood C
Berserk
Ergo Proxy

Fire away!

I'm sorry OP, but before I respond, may I ask if you have other intentions or motives behind this topic?

You haven't seen Fullmetal Alchemist? I'd recommend starting off with the first half (up to episode 25) of the '03 anime, then switching over to the 2012's Brotherhood from the beginning. After the events of Rush valley, the '03 anime stopped following the manga and spun off into stupid Godwin territory.

Monster is a good variation on the Fugitive, set in post-Cold War Europe.

Trinity Blood had an OK run, though I found the ongoing manga to be more interesting.

I see it as well, the OP is truly a mastermind of exquisite caliber. This is but an initial information recon, before operation "Doomchicken" can begin. An operation most fowl..

as for anime, Puella Magi Madoka Magica or Watamote.

If you want real anime recommendations, I'm probably the right person to ask on this forum, just drop that ridiculous dub bias.

Listen to this guy, OP! We elected him Grand Chancellor of Anime on the forums last week. His word is law.

OT: Darker than Black has an excellent English dub. One of my all-time favorites. Unfortunately most of the rest of my suggestions aren't in English yet (or the dub sucks) :p

And by that he means the best anime ever made, "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge". If Sung-Hwan was here, he'd suggest that wholeheartedly, in English mind you, as is customary. Yes, if he was here before us, he'd talk about it's wonderful production values, great story, and compelling characters. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that there is no better anime then the one Sung-Hwan would say, and that is "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge" Which I think is about a window hinge and cheese.. I dunno, I am not Sung-Hwan, and can not know the best anime myself, I'm more of a Street Sharks kinda guy..

All I can say is that this post is JAWESOME.

OT: I just thought of another great English dub not on your list: FLCL.

It's fine. Let him enjoy a show the way he chooses.

OT: I second Madoka Magica. It's from the same writer as Psycho-Pass. Granted, it's a magical girl anime, and I wouln't call it action packed, so it might not be to your liking, but it's a much darker take on it, so it might be worth a try if you give it until maybe after three episodes.

For the record, Madoka Magica is an anime you can't just recommend to anyone, especially hotblooded people.

I'd suggest Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, and possibly Gintama to the OP. Very basic, entry-level fistfight anime with competent dubbing. Very little to think about as well in terms of themes, and can be enjoyed by all ages, especially children.

For the record, if this is the only requirements as suggested by Sung-Hwan, I would like to change my recommendations to "Flint the Time Detective"[footnote]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yBEbuuTsZU[/footnote], "Fighting Foodons"[footnote]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LbWWx80ZPA[/footnote], and "Ultimate Muscle"[footnote]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRwJvOm395E[/footnote].

actually scratch Gintama, watch Fist of the North Star. That's very likely up the OP's alley, though the dub is hard to find.

Live-action Fist of the North Star is the greatest film ever made.

You should watch the ongoing anime Nanatsu no Taizai.

It's set in Arthurian era Britannia, though Arthur hasn't conquered all of Britain yet, he has just pulled the sword from the stone, and rules over Camelot. In this universe, the various kingdoms of Britain are protect by powerful soldiers called holy knights, who wield incredible magic.

In the kingdom of Lions, there existed a group of knights known as the Seven Deadly Sins, a group of holy knights that individually possessed power beyond the powers of any other Holy Knights.

However, 10 years before the start of the story, the Seven Sins slew the leader of the holy knights of the kingdom, The Great Holy Knight Zataras, and attempted to overthrow the kingdom, but were defeated by the combined force of all the holy knights in the land, with many believing them dead, though rumors of their continued existence remained.

Now, at the start of the series, the new Great Holy Knights have lead their own coup of the kingdom, locking the King away and telling everyone he is ill, and capturing and imprisoning his daughters. Only the third princess of the kingdom, Elizabeth, managed to escape, and now seeks to find the Seven Sins, as they are the only ones with the power to defeat the holy knights, and free the king.

After spending two weeks wandering the countryside, hiding in a suit of armor, Elizabeth stumbles into a bar, murmuring of the Seven Sins, which draws the attention of the local knights, and forces the bar's owner to protect her. Much to her surprise, the seemingly young owner of this bar happens to be Meliodas, The Dragon's Sin of Wrath, the former commander of the Seven sin, who agrees to help Elizabeth save her father.

Now Meliodas and Elizabeth much travel across Britain to find the other Sins, while fighting off the holy knights that try to stop them.
.
.
All the sins are stupidly overpowered
-The Dragon's Sin of Wrath, Meliodas, is a 3000+ year old being with super human strength and speed, and the magic ability of full counter, which allows him to reflect any magical attack back at its source with 100 fold power.

-The Serpents Sin of Envy, Diane, is a 700+ year old giant woman, over 30 feet tall, and has the power of creation, the ability to manipulate the earth summoning huge spikes from the ground, the ability to turn ground into quicksand, and the ability to lift pieces of land as large as small villages into the air and dropping them on her enemies, on top of her already massive strength. Her powers are further amplified by the 2,500 pound war-hammer Gideon.

-The Fox's Sin of Greed, Ban, is a man who drank the fountain of youth, becoming a true immortal, able to revive himself even after having his head cut off, split in half, having all of his bones crushed, etc. etc., and possesses the power of snatch, the ability to steal from his opponents, even at a distance, including his enemies strength, and speed, which he can give to himself increasing his own power.

-The Grizzly's Sin of Sloth, King, is the 1000+ year old king of all fairies, and possesses magic powers great enough to have kept entire kingdoms at bay single handedly. He also possesses he magic spear chastifoul, which he can command with his mind, and turn it into everything from a single spear, to a hail of daggers, to a massive sunflower that shoots an energy beam, and everything in-between.

-The Goat's sin of Lust, Gowther, is possibly a homunculus, which gives him the ability to change parts of his appearance at will, and he possesses the power of Invasion, which lets him enter people's minds and alter their memories at will, and can even trap people forever in their own worst nightmares. His power is enhanced by his bows of like, Herritt, which allows him to use invasion on large groups at once.

-The Boar's Sin of Gluttony, Merlin, is THE Merlin from Arthurian legend, though its a girl in this manga/anime, and she is the greatest magic user in all of Britain, and possesses the ability to teleport herself and others, and has the power of absolute cancel, which allows her to negate any magic spell she touches.

The final sin, the Lion's Sin of Pride, Escandor, hasn't shown up yet in the manga or anime, but it's believed that he is a vampire

OP so you just want action action action! The movies/TV shows you couldn't watch are some of the best stuff I've seen in the last few years(especially Ergo Proxy). ADHD at it's finest! Oh well, Fist of the North Star is for you. Lot's of action and great character development. Too bad manga entertainment only dubbed the first 35 episodes. Sucks for you since you can't stand subs.

Can you make up your mind. Also you didn't ask why I don't watch Sub, instead of being elitist over foreign animations...

I have no reason to ask you why you such a question when I know the answer. Americans are easily enraged, confused, or biased when listening to language unfamiliar to them. I don't have issues with dubs myself, but would not take them over subs unless the people I like are involved.

But yeah those are my recommendations to you. I suggest you stay away from Madoka because it has a poor dub, requires a lot of thought to really take in the themes, and has an all female cast; being a Magical Girl anime after all. That basically means misogynists, brutish ogres, or tough guys in general, will likely not enjoy the feminine exterior of the anime, nor the struggles that ensue.

Fast paced actony stuff eh? with a hint of characterdevelopment...
You could give Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic or Soul Eater a chance, perhaps.
