Just Cause 2's Multiplayer Mod Now Integrated on Steam

Just Cause 2's chaotic multiplayer mod is out and ready to rock.

The multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 is one of the most ambitious in recent memory. The sheer addition of network play in a normally single-player game is impressive enough, but the achieving scope of the mod (sustaining up to a thousand players per server) without breaking the game's programming in half is a real feat. After a successful beta, the mod is finally ready for its "official" launch, claiming a page on Steam's store [http://store.steampowered.com/app/259080/] and dropping a flashy launch trailer.

The mod adds a number of multiplayer events to enjoy, some straight from the base game and some original ideas. The map of Just Cause 2 was absurdly large when there was only one crazy agent of destruction running around, but on full servers you can expect explosions and wild firefights to be happening everywhere you look.

on sale for a measly three bucks [http://store.steampowered.com/app/259080/] until December 19. If you've yet to visit the tropical islands of Panau, there's no better time than the present.

While there are some bugs both graphically and otherwise, the mod team has put out something absolutely fun and crazy. Seriously if you own JC2 on PC and AREN'T playing this, something is definitely wrong with you... definitely.

There's chaotic, then there's madness, then there's insanity... this looks like it goes well beyond those boundaries..

I'll skip... purely on the grounds that I have the PS3 version and prefer controllers for this kind of game. I wouldn't be able to handle keyboard and mouse for this.

It's impressive that a team of modders could do this. Kudos to them.

I guess I'm crazy, I just don't see the fun in trying to do my own thing while being harassed/annoyed by some water heads lolerskating about doing whatever.

That said, even I have to admit the technical side of this is pretty damn cool/crazy/astounding.

So do I. That's why I use controller on PC. Haven't tried this one out yet, even though I've owned it for a while.

A friend and I played it for a little bit earlier. The Mile High Club was a war zone, with the "Enforcers" constantly under siege from all sides as a massive air battle took place in the surrounding area.

I find it so funny that a bunch of modders can make a game do what it was never designed to do far better than paid AAA devs with full access to the source code and (theoretical) knowledge of the game engine. Seriously EA, Ubisoft etc should be ashamed of themselves.

Well, harassing other players is the entire point of this mod; there aren't any NPCs around :p

I played it for 3hrs so far and it was just crazy fun. The first hour or so I played on a server with about 100 people online; but since that felt too empty, I switched to a server with about 700 people (which was just fine).

If someone's annoying you, explode them and run away. There will always be massive empty zones because the map is just. That. Massive.

OT: I might have exploded from happiness inside.

If only if my controller still worked. I'm not about to try and learn that control scheme on KB+M T.T
I'm curious though. People of the escapist, mention about how your PC is an alienware and it's good, then tell me how long arguments last this year. 2012 had two hour long arguments where everyone agreed.

the fact that it actually works at all is a miracle in of itself, not even accounting for animation errors and crazy glitching (and some of it is even unintentional!) in the most chaotic, senseless, godless, ongoing trainwreck that is entailed in such a concept

and there's really no going back to grand theft auto online after this

Quick rundown of how this game works. You log in, you get money for killing people or placing well in a race/derby which queues up every now and again. You use money to buy your permanent skin, or temporary weapons or vehicles. You can teleport to various airports or cities for mayhem or explore on your own. there is no co-op.
Teleporting to airports may land you in the middle of the largest unskilled dogfight imaginable or the largest kamikaze attack since Pearl Harbor, either way hilarity ensues.
While you're at it, use your grapplehookthing to attach two cars together and then use the /boost capability which acts as nitrous on nitrous while doing a line of meth and did I mention nitrous? well anyway it basically makes car go fast in whatever direction it is facing (wheels don't matter, also works on boats).
This turns you into whirling car-bolos of death or destruction or just plain WTF IS THAT?
Its crazy, like supa-crazy. And addictive.

Question, I recently got an Xbox 360 plug in adaptor, if I got the game on PC, would my 360 controller work? I would prefer using a controller for this type of thing.
use it would but I would recomend keeping you keybaord nearby for teleporting and shop stuff
