I'm not entirely sure these are coming out in 2016 (or that they are all Indie) but they are still worth keeping en eye on:
M.O.R.E - 4X game.
Predestination - 4X game.
Gnomoria - Dwarf fortress light&like with "better" graphics and UI. ,)
Rimworld - Cross between DF light and a Colony Sim.
Unclaimed World - Colony Sim.
Everspace - A rogue-li(k/t)e Space sim. Think 3D FTL with third person view cam.
Endless Sky - 2D Space sim.
Is it out? Can't tell! :
The Spatials - A Space-Station building and Colony Sim cross.
Might be a bit later than 2016..:
Galaxy of Fire 3 - Space sim with third person view cam.

Wow M.O.R.E. is still in development? Was part of the first kickstarter but kinda lost it from view.
Didn't realize gnomoria was still in E.A., it's perfectly playable. Although I do hope they include a bit more end game content, making a giant castle doesn't really interest me (especially since it end up being less efficiently design than the open simple open cave).
As for the article list, been keeping an eye on most of them. Played a bit of darkest of dungeon and loved it initially but it got a bit stale. Your character don't gain new skill so it feel like you play the exact same way at the beginning and at the end of the game. Adding some branching decision to leaving skill would be very nice.
