Well this looks like a great way to have stupid fun and kill a lot of time. For those that don't know Kill La Kill is an action anime that came out in 2013 made by former animators from Gainax and took most of their staff with them to form Studio Trigger. KLK is an over-the-top balls to the wall type anime with the fan-service (but with an actual purpose), comdedy, and crazy animation style. The story is surprisingly good, but the early episodes have a rough start. I do give the show an recommendation if you want something silly and different.

The game based off the anime is getting a fighting game. It's not 2.5D, but a 3D arena brawler. Man, anime games are getting too many of those types of fighters. Though, this one looks and plays more interesting compared to the others. I know this won't be tournament worthy, but the game already looks fun and is available on both Switch, PS4, and Steam on July 26th. I'll make my reservation in the summer.

The interesting thing about this one is that it's actually made by arc system works which isn't known to make these types of games, they're cc2's or namco's playhouse.

I'm very interesting to see how the makers of guilty gear and blazblue handle KLK.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Wow, that's a lot different then I expected. I really wonder what the campaign will be like. I really enjoyed Kill La Kill so I've got my eye out for this, but I was expecting it to be more like Guilty Gear, not the Naruto games.

My goodness have I been thrown back 5-6 years ago when this show was EVERYWHERE on the internet?

On meme sites, references in forums by users, videos, Fanart, Porn art.

Yeesh. Now they made a video game worth its salt?

Most of the memes I remember, but I did not watch the show until a year later when they started dubbing it. I was skeptical at first, but gave a chance after realizing, there was not much anime to look at other than Space Dandy. I got hooked after the 3rd or 4th episode. Like said before, Kill La Kill has rough start, but when it gets going, it gets going. KLK certainly had a better and satisfying ending than Gurren Lagaan.

Have you seen the gurren lagann movies? The second one (basically the second season of the anime) has an extra original 20~ minutes after the ending of the anime which fleshes it out a LOT better than the anime did.

Though yeah this is Trigger and comparisons between the series are going to be coming. I just think that KLK has a (much) larger emphasis on comedy, whereas gurren lagann is more serious and less "wacky", which is why I like it more, though I don't mean to imply that I don't like KLK one bit.

Super excited to main Mako in this btw.

I was so pissed off at the ending, that I did not bother with any of the movies, since they were just retellings and were fixing an ass pull that did not needed to be there in the first place. I still have no interest in the films, sadly. Thanks for trying though. I'm excited for Mako too.

I'm actually really surprised to hear this, never heard anyone who disliked the ending. I'd love to hear why you feel that way about it! (Maybe in a spoiler tab or PM for anyone who might not have seen it)

I got the game. I've already beaten story mode for both Satsuki (who you start off as first) and Ryuko. You have complete story mode for both to unlock most of the characters or certain modes, including online battle. The campaigns are not long and can beaten in 2-3 hours. The combos in this game are simple to do, but can be tricky to master depending on the character. Everyone plays differently despite the small roster (two of which are free dlc soon to be released). Do note this is game for fans of the anime, anyone else that plays this with no reference to the show is going to be lost as all hell. I am going to play so more tonight and do some online later. The game has a survival mode, a game mode called covers (three different types where you have to kill as many enemies as possible or within the time limit.), practice and free battle mode too.

Let me know if you have any questions. There is a review that will answer them, but feel free to ask.
