Kingdom Hearts III is Coming This Year, Claims Goofy Himself

Bill Farmer, the voice actor for Goofy, says that voice recording for Kingdom Hearts III is finished, and it's due out this year.

While Square Enix refuses to confirm a release date for Kingdom Hearts III [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/131898-Square-Enix-Denies-Kingdom-Hearts-III-Final-Fantasy-XV-Rumors], one of the game's central voice actors claims to know something we don't. Bill Farmer, who voices Goofy in the series, as well as various Disney cartoons, says that voice recording for the new game has wrapped up, and Square is prepping for a 2015 release.

The info comes from Kingdom Hearts 3D remake [https://twitter.com/GoofyBill/] that is rumored to be in the works. He added that "as far as I know", voice recording for Kingdom Hearts III had been concluded.

So there you have it, straight from the weird-cartoon-dog-thing's mouth. We don't know too much about Kingdom Hearts III at this stage, except for the fact that it most definitely won't be the Disney's acquisition of LucasFilm [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/126388-Kingdom-Hearts-3-Not-the-End-of-the-Series].

We also assume that it will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and we can probably expect to see content from Frozen (because Disney can't seem to let it go), and maybe even Big Hero 6 to join the fray.

Awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome!!!!! I have been patiently waiting for Kingdom Hearts III ever since I beat Kingdom Hearts II.
It would be extra awesome if FFXV released this year too.

Goofy...I don't believe you! I've seen you're trollish levels in the latest cartoons!

OT: If this is true, then it'd at least be an appropriate year. As of 2015, Kingdom Hearts 2, the base game at least, came out 10 years ago as of March. That would be good timing, and I know many people wish to continue the story...and now I must rush to get my PS4 since this year is also the year the new Ratchet and Clank movie comes out.

So, wait, I know there have been other Kingdom Hearts games since the second one; are they just "gaiden games" or is this actually the Assassin's Creed or Half-Life school of sequel numbering where you're still expected to play the ones with non-sequential titles in order to get the whole story in the proper order?

Goofy also claimed to be driving a car while sitting in a caravan. I remain skeptic.

Other than that, I need more money! ...Just to be prepared, that is...

The second one, which is aggravating since the series has split itself across 6 platforms.

Whether or not this is true, I know I'm not the only one who read those quotes exclusively in Goofy's voice. Also, I'm perfectly fine with there being a Frozen level - that's probably where we pick up the Blizzaga spell.

Every single game except for maybe 358/2 Days and RE:Coded actually contributes to the major story.

Birth By Sleep highlights what the Keyblade Weilder's jobs were, how Xemnas and Ansem: Seeker of Darkness were created and who their creator was (IE: The main villain over the entire series thus far).

Kingdom Hearts I - You already know

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories introduced Organization 13 as well as many of the major plot developments that were continued in Kingdom Hearts II

358/2 Days just goes over Roxas' History as well as Xion, a character that was in Dream Drop Distance and assumedly will be in Kingdom Hearts III. Also shows the bonds between Axel and Roxas.

Kingdom Hearts II - You already know

RE:Coded - Honestly it is completely worthless except for the extra scene at the very end that introduces Yen Sid and the Keyblade Mastery Exams which brings us to...

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance introduced Xehanorts master plan, who the keyblade weilders are, and a bunch of strange wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.

while that is true, the 1.5 and 2.5 remix's combine all (or mostly all) of the games into HD ps3 versions, and I think each one sells for 25 bucks or so as of now if you get a decent deal for it.

normally I'm right there with you, but they did make it possible (and user friendly) by putting 3 games a piece (in order..I think?) on each blu-ray disc.

OT: can't even begin to describe my excitement for this. This plus ff15? I'll have me a ps4 before the end of this year, this is certain.

Ya, KH3 is not PS4 exclusive. They announced early on it'll be on the Xbone as well.

And as sad as it might sound, apparently Bill Farmer might've been confused after all. Not sure on the source (going by what my friend says as she locals on tumblr and finds random stuff), but he may have been talking about one of the remakes and not KH3. On his twitter, he also mentions that KH3 doesn't have a release date (whether that means a specific date or any window at all) [https://twitter.com/GoofyBill/status/553015723715334145]. From the reveal teaser, I had a feeling it would be a late 2015 or (more likely) 2016 release. FF15 hasn't even come out yet, and that game has been on higher priority. And even if the English voices are recorded, there's still other things to translate and localize. Even worse, westerners will likely get KH3 MONTHS after Japan.

Ok, done being a party pooper. I'll go back to being excited that we live in a time where KH3 is at least alive.

I do know that on websites you can pre-order KH3 already, and they have it listed for end of 2015 (probably just a placeholder date), but hey, if they are already taking pre orders, I can only assume it'll come out in the next year...

Judging that KH3's current Amazon.ca date is Dec 31 of this year, I'm sure that's a placeholder date. There have been rumors that both FF15 and KH3 were going to be 2015 releases (I remember an article that claimed they would go out in May on the same day...for some reason), but nothing has been confirmed or trustworthy. Just random gossip me thinks.
EDIT: Well, FF15 is a very likely 2015 release year. KH3 not as much.

Sidenote: Ugh, I also just learned KH3 might be $70 in Canada. Why are you so crappy, loonie? You're making games $5-10 more expensive here x__x.

Most likely yes, but let's not forget about the giant turd that was Duke Nukem Forever.

The misinformation game is strong.

As plenty of others have said, KH3 was confirmed to be multiplat last year.

Square Enix have also confirmed this as a "goof" (I suppose they couldn't miss the pun), and that the released date has yet to be determined. They clarified this a matter of hours after the initial claims from Goofy's voice actor.

My gut feeling is really doubtful about a 2015 release. Maybe Japan will get it some time close to Christmas, but I reckon the earliest the rest of the world will see it is early-ish 2016.

Regardless, I'm pretty excited about this even if I don't particularly WANT to be. KH is such a damn milker at this point and I've bought every single one in the franchise. It'll be nice to finally see this series end.
