I read that as 'Korean Ex-Defense Minister Says Crysis "Isn't StarCraft"'. What the heck.
Time to go to bed I guess.

It's moar liek Crysis, amirite!?
Some people aren't taking this seriously enough...

And the comparison is quite good. Besides, it draws a valid parallel between a hypothetical videogame scenario and a real life threat. In its essence it's the same thing, except there are no retries in real life.

...Or are there?

EDIT: Christ, I got ninja'd while writing the post.

Naaah, they Zerg rush.

They should just move their war into a three-round based StarCraft tournament. And to compensate for North Korean people's lack of internet skills a hunger contest too. Gotta be fair to both sides.

Press: What is the government doing about the lack of jobs and the current economic failure?

Obama: This isn't Sim City.
Oooooo

Seriously though, it's amazing that George Bush drives into this hole and people are complaining more about how Obama is getting us out of it too slowly.

How about the fact that it's getting better? That's lost on most people.
Getting out slowly? How about digging deeper? That's lost on some people.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

South Korean national Starcraft champs should be brought in for military tactical advising.

OK whats the build order to deal with the 4-6 million dead in Seoul from the NKs opening chemical artillery barge. The short range missiles will start to fall on major South Korean ports, again armed with chemical weapons, thats another 2 million dead. 20 - 30 seconds later the missiles start falling on Japan, another 2 million gone. 40 minutes later the long range missiles start landing on the west coast, this time with 20-30 kiloton nukes. Seattle, LA, San Francisco and San Diego are hit. They are only small nukes thats only 500000 dead each, so only another 2 million gone. The war is only 1 hour old and 12 are million dead. It really isn't Star Craft.

And now we all know what he's been doing in his spare time ;)

But yeah, decent analogy. And I imagine unlike the UK, everyone in Korea actually 'got' that.

A Zerg rush would be an epic fail considering the massive number of spider mines in the DMZ. I also don't think that North Korea has enough Vespene gas for air units. But yeah, if war really was StarCraft, N. Korea would be screwed. There's too many many StarCraft jokes I could come up with so I'll just stop here.

He has a great point. If war were more like Starcraft the entire planet would be united under the banner of the Great South Korean Empire by now :p

I'm not sure if anyone has actually said this already, but do you think if there is a war, you'll just see the screen in the South Korean military installations flash up with 'NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED'?

Yes, yes they are. North Korea must now proceed to spawn more Overlords.

OT: I don't really think it's that odd for a political person to make a sports reference, even if it happens to an E-sport. That said, despite my better knowing it did put a smile on my face.
