Is it just me, or does anyone else think that kotor 1 could have spawned a line of films in the star wars universe that were actually good? I seriously think it would have been a far better idea to use that game and universe as the basis of new star wars "episodes" instead of those large mounds of crap they gave us with Episodes 1-3. I've literally been on pins and needles for the past 4 or 5 years wondering what the hell Revan and Malik were looking for on the outer rim... btw, when are they going to release the third game so I can finally figure out the big secret that both games end with!?

I thought the KotOR story was completely brilliant. I also thought that the films were pretty awesome too.
But I have this theory. Games > movies. So, I am glad they were games.
Anyway, I don't know if they'll ever make a KotOR 3. They're so busy with Mass Effect and Dragon age now. ~_~

Knights of the Old Republic has an amazing plot and one that I believe is would make a good film, but I would rather keep it as a game.
Lucas Arts hasn't given the "okay" for any team to work on Knights of the Old Republic 3, and frankly I think that's a really stupid move considering the amount of fans it still has.

Probably, but in my heart, an MMO will never be a proper sequel. To me, KotOR is finished and will never see it's story carried on.Korten12 said:

The games are a brilliant master-piece, no doubt about that, but any time hollywood tries a movie based on a game they fuck it up.

Absolutely. Translating that game into a movie would be a disaster. I'm sure the idea has actually been proposed already. Frankly, since Lucas is pretty much eyebrows-deep into keeping the franchise to himself, you're better off waiting until he dies so maybe someone can pick it up and make a good SW movie in the future. The prequels ruined it... so maybe a KOTOR movie could resurrect it?
For The Old Republic to be a continuation of KOTOR, that just stinks. Perhaps because it roughly takes place along the same time line you could associate it with KOTOR, but I highly doubt personally that it could be considered a KOTOR sequel.
