Ok, this is seriously getting to a point where its getting redicul- err even MORE rediculous then usual. The sooner we get an R18+ rating, kick out all the fucktards from parliament stopping this game coming through and rewrite the rating system for games...the fucking better.

There are a couple of things i just wanted to add to the previous post. From what i've read I believe the main reason for the possible ban is due to the slightly amped up violence and dismemberment, particularly with melee weapons (not necessarily the adrenaline or accused 'racism'). Also, i doubt Aussies like myself could get the game off steam if it was banned. I think steam could stop you from purchasing it based on your IP address or something of the sort. Also, if L4D2 was banned and you tried to purchase it from another country, you may get into legal trouble. If we want to predict the most likely outcome, i think it's best to look at the situation of Team Fortress 2 in Germany (although i think Germany's even a step more conservative than Australia).
So here's what i imagine to be the two most likely outcomes (in what i believe to in the order of likeliness).
1) L4D2 get's banned and Australian's are forced to play a Sanitized and toned down version of Left 4 Dead 2. Even though i think this is stupid and i shouldn't be treated as a kid, it's better than not being able to play it at all.
2) L4D2 get's banned and Australian's are restricted from playing it. The crapiness of this is self-explanatory.
3) It doesn't get banned and Australian's can play it in all it's original glory. This is pretty unlikely though

This is absolutely ridiculous, the game would have the highest possible rating and no minor should be able to see or play the game. This is what ratings are for, so that they dont play these games. Fucking ridiculous.

as an aussie thanks for ur sympathy rudd probly sucks at l4d so he decided to ban it or he had to keep playing as louis
u got a point they have rating to stop 12 yr old tearing zombies to pieces with axes adn pans if it has a R rating its for a reason but if it is relased some 12 yr old brisbane kid will probly get there usless parents to get it for them saying its R for "really safe and fun".
