If self-control is such an issue for him, a lawyer isn't probably what he should've contacted. But then again, maybe he had to sue Apple in order to afford that appointment with a psychiatrist.
...But he IS the lawyer. Of course he would contact himself.

You know, the "A" key on the keyboard is quite a distance away from the "U" key... Must of been one hell of a typo.
Either that or he's been to that 'other' website so much the search engine automatically assumes that's where he wants to go every time he types the letter 'f' in the search bar. e.g when I type the letter 't' it fills in thatguywiththeglasses.com for me because I go there all the time.

I hope his email address is leaked on the internet and all he does for the rest of his life is click links to porn until he dies of starvation/internal bleeding. It's like you have a peanut allergy, and demand peanuts be removed from all products because you bought a product with peanuts in it rather than reading the fucking ingredients and/or explicit warning and realising the consequences. That or blaming a gun manufacturer because you shot someone with a product of theirs. Not, of course, to belittle those with an actual problem like a peanut allergy by comparing them to this pathetic excuse of a medical condition.

Despite my completely anit-censorship views, I actually kind of hope this guy wins. Apple has clogged up the courts with so many frivolous lawsuits that it would be nice bit of schadenfreude to see them lose a case this stupid and have to pay this guy a large sum in damages.

On the other hand, I'd rather not see this lead to any measure of internet censorship and with the U.S. being the U.S., this might set a dangerous precedent in their courts... I'm torn...

"In using Safari, the Plaintiff accidentally misspelled 'facebook.com' which lead him to 'fuckbook.com' and a host of websites that caused him to see pornographic images that appealed to his biological sensibilities as a male and lead to an unwanted addiction with adverse consequences," the lawsuit states.
first of all, fuckbook.com really exists as a website, i saw its advertisements because you know on actual few porn sites that gibve you porn and not just redirect you to the next site there is still more advertisement than porn.

also, could be just trolling. fartbook has many names. after all, failbook is so popular people are bound to come up with alternative names to fakebook.
see what i did there?

Classic, "It's not my fault I _________, it's _________" mad lib... People got money from McDonalds for getting fat eating only their food so I wouldn't be surprised if he get's some sort of settlement. Though the Mac OS does make you agree to a ridiculously long EULA when you turn one on for the first time and I'd be surprised if there isn't a clause in there that puts them in the clear, ie. "Apple is not responsible for any personal liability that comes from the use of this product".

I've worked with Apple too much.

Anyway, next target is big MS. I think a class action lawsuit of guys with chafed privates would make for good viewing.

How do you even do this? The "u" key is so far away from the "a" key. Still, I almost wish this goes through just because of the hilarity of the thing.
That's a good point. the 'a' and 'u' as well as the 'e' and 'k' are on entirely opposite sides of the keyboard. This really boils down to "I have no self control, no respect for my wife (which is why she left me) and though I can search for "porn" I can't just add the word "filter" to the end of it and find a program that would do exactly what I want Apple to do. Damn you Apple for not protecting me from my own stupidity and poor decision making and the consequences that comes with being a moron!"

Also, I thought that in the US you had to be 18 years old to participate in porn, but 21 years old to watch it. Can someone from the US clarify this for me?
Hah! Does that mean if you are a pornographic actor/actress between the ages of 18 and 20, you have to close your eyes while filming so you can't watch what is happening? Hehe.

But actually, I think it's 18 on both counts (participating and watching). You just can't be drunk while doing it :)

Also: This is the very definition of a frivolous lawsuit. Maybe this guy ought to look up the term "Personal responsibility".
we have a similar joke in britain: a person between 16 and 18 can have sex, but they can't look down

incidentally: your age of consent is 18?

I thought WE were the ones who were meant to be prudish about that sort of stuff...

What are you kidding? This is America, the land of the Prudes.

Yeah, our age of consent is 18. Although in practice, I know of no one who actually waits that long (at least not personally, you hear about them on TV and such. But everyone I personally know started earlier than that). I don't really know why they don't just change it to 16.

I think (but don't quote me on this) that it is actually legal for two underage people to have sex. And of course for two over 18 people to do so. Where they get into trouble is if you have one over and one under age. Which leads to an interesting issue, what if two people who are underage are sexually active with each other, and then one of them turns 18. Does that mean they have to stop until the other one reaches that age? I never really understood how that worked (not that I've bothered to look into it, mind you :) ).

And here we have yet another prime example of someone who does not want to accept responsibility for his actions. The next step up would be claiming that watching porn was his destiny.

People that are under the "age of consent" cannot legally consent to sex. If nobody tattles, then nobody is charged. Though at any time one can charge the other. The courts typically favor the female, or the one who is two years younger. So if she decides she doesn't like you, she can have you charged with a crime. When one reaches 18+, the 18+ will be charged as an adult, and face very serious charges, including being registered on the national list of dangerous sex offenders. These charges can have life long consequences. It isn't that it was legal before, it is that 18 is the line between being forgiven, or having the book thrown at you.

Some states in the U.S.A. have the age of consent at 16, while others have it set at 18. The age of consent at the Federal level is 18, but these crimes shouldn't reach the Federal level unless it happens across state lines, such as during vacations, at out-of-state colleges, or uploaded to or across the internet, etc.

Recordings or photos of the deed are Federal level crimes, and thus both participants must be 18. You can't record or photograph (or view photos or recordings of, or show them to) anyone under 18, period. A young couple in South Carolina is learning this the hard way. Age of Consent in S.C. is 16, but he recorded it. So now he is doing jail time and is on the national list of dangerous sex offenders.
