So...he definitely jumped right? He wasn't pushed? Because it seems like by exposing this scam he made some enemies for sure.
That was my first thought too.

People take these games way too seriously. Like, I understand getting invested in a competitive match and even playing on a team. But suicide? Holy shit! Come to think of it, match fixing too. Who considers THIS important enough to actually fix matches in it?
The people that stand to make a lot of money off it, either by winning tournaments, splitting prize money for throwing a match or betting on a fixed match. eSports are getting huge in Asia, and they were pretty big anyway. South Korea actually televise Starcraft matches. There's some serious money in eSports.

[small]I hate the term eSport. It just sounds so silly...[/small]

So how do you exactly fix games like these? Stream cheating? Like... How do you set it up so that you can be sure to get the money unless one of the sides knows to lose at certain point.

Like I am dota player. There is Captain's draft that always on tournaments. In-game obs client is delayed by few mins. Almost every tournament has rules against players streaming and they have official casters who have to delay their streams. (if they stream)

So how do you exactly fix something like this?

We're sure he jumped, right? Like, there's a suicide note or something somewhere that has his handwriting, correct? Because his manager could operate under the belief that, *ahem*, "Snitches get stitches".

Either way, I hope he makes a full recovery.

Wow.

I hope he's ok; particularly mentally. The scars from landing on a recyclying building will heal; the mental scars of being involved in an illegal gambling circle and then attempting to kill yourself will probably take a little more time.

"Serious condition" or "critical condition"? I've never heard of "serious condition" before.
I have. It means "He'll get better, but he can't leave the hospital". Critical is "He may not make it".

What I get from this article, and this makes it so much more fucked up. He must have been so excited he could play the games that he used to escape his home life professionally. Only to learn his team was created to lose and make some **** money. Honestly, fuck that manager. Hope the poor guy recovers and keeps gaming.
That's a really disturbing thought. Ugh, imagine having no refuge anywhere anymore.
