It's not real or fake. It's Machinima. Faked implies that it was meant to deceive people into thinking it was real. I remember when it first came out. It was common knowledge that the movie was Machinima and loosely based on real events.

This is pretty much like someone watching The Matrix and saying "Was it real or faked?" It's neither.

It was staged, the people who made it have admitted it. However, saying it's "faked" is an overstatement. They didn't intend for people to think it was real.

From what I heard, the video IS staged, but the events really did happen. Basically:

Raider leader explains situation, why Leeroy is afk. Leeroy comes back from afk and pulls. Someone in the raid thought that was hilarious, and made the skit, which we've all seen.

This is believable, since, how could you gather a "Chance for survival"? It wouldn't surprise me at all if the whole thing was real either since, when I played WoW, I was constantly screwing around and irritating the Raid/Guild Leader.

Like when my friend(Hunter) misdirected to the healer, or when I water-walked a druid in Azjol-Nerub. (For those who haven't played WoW, there's a big drop into a pull of water. Water-walking someone here will cause them to die.

I've also done the Leeroy moment. I'd tell someone to explain the fight before I get back. I'd go to the restroom, or go get something to drink, and I would come back and pull. Than again, I was the tank.
