?Beyond the Wilds? is a mostly great episode with some pacing issues, but you won?t mind by the end.

I still think Opal was too harsh on Bolin eventhought I do get she isn't having any peace when her family life is at stake (zome on, does she not know Bolin enough that he is not a total dick well toward her unlike Mako before the big apology). While it was kind of cool that Zaheer helped her but doesn't she still got to face her other avatar state self? Also why were Desa and Eska were absent in the dicussion? What I don't get is why the vine is capturing people and putting them in those pods? Is it because its lifeforce is being hack away so it needed to draining others?

Sure it's fanservice seeing part of the Bei Fong reunion but why did Toph went to them? Is she admitting that she is no longer the badass we view her to be since she think she can't taje Kuvira on her own?

Poke-it-with-a-stick-guy might just be my new favourite Avatar character alongside foaming-mouth-guy and cabbage-guy.

Amazing episode for that alone. 10/10 Pure perfection.

The interaction with Zaheed was good, but too short. I would have taken a lot more of that scene instead of the vines kidnapping. As it was, it seems like Korra's recovery was a little "too easy".

I really hope in the end credits of the last episode, we see Zaheer drinking tea with Iroh and discussing philosophy.

I got this feeling too. I would have liked more spiritual guidance from Zaheer and less of the vines and so the relatively quick resolution felt a bit rushed. But then again considering the context of this episode and just about every single episode of season 4 has had her dealing with this I think I can forgive the resolution being a little short but sweet. Korra has really struggled with this and it was handled very well and very maturely by the writers. It didn't just go away in an episode or 2. This ailment was one of the toughest battles korra has had to fight so far and we got to see it all. I think that has earned the writers a little more credit that I willing to hand out :)

Zaheer I go again
Better off this way for now
So let go~

OT: If the whole vines thing was shorten a bit (without taking out the "poking it with a stick" segment), the whole Zaheer thing extended just a bit, and Opal not confusing Bolin for Mako in the relationship department, this would have been a near-perfect non-combat-filled episode in my opinion... Other than that, I really liked all of Zaheer's screentime in this particular episode...
