It's pretty cold for where I live in California right now... which means it drops below 32°F (0°C) in the middle of the night sometimes.

Cold for where I live, but not cold for me. I'm comfortable wearing shorts in these temperatures. Although I completely melt in the summer...
What part of Cali are you from?
I only moved here a few weeks ago, Its gunna take me some time to get used to blue skies and sunshine in December/January!

Today it topped 25 degrees, I took great great pleasure in posting a photo of a solitary cloud over the beach I was at on Palm to facebook, with the caption "it's really cloudy today :("
I hope my friends back home get the joke.
I'm about an hour's drive east of San Fran, in the town of nothing known as Tracy. In winter it rarely drops to the thirties, and in summer it rarely gets above 100. But it is almost always windy here. Still clear skies, but always windy.
Ah cool I'm in Santa cruz. It's been pretty sunny lately, today is overcast though. still, it's much better than the weather back in the uk!

From soggy south-east England. I think it's 6C at the moment so mild again. There was water washing back and forth on the buses this morning it was so wet. Last year I saw not a single flake of snow so I'm kind of hoping for a cold snap soon. I'd rather snow than rain especially as we had some flooding where I lived last winter.

Here in Adelaide we have just had a week of temperatures of 38C+ and half the hills were on fire. Now we're expecting to get the most rain over three days that we've had in 30 years! It's fair to say that the weather here is messed up at the moment.

Last week we we're up to 55 degrees F, with rain out the ass. Now we're currently -8 and freezing our asses off. Ohio, baby! It doesn't have to make sense.

Here in Victoria, British Columbia it is currently 8 Celsius (46 F) and it's not even raining right now! Although it is fairly humid and damp out.

But yeah best weather in Canada, no contest.

I live in the same province as OP and I confirm it was very cold today, so much that I took a picture of my thermometer just for the hell of it.

I woke up at 4:50am this morning and it was -27, with humidity and wind chills it got over -40.
I don't think we've broke a record in my area but it's been a while since we've got a day that cold.
The air was so cold that breathing the cold air chills your lung.

And I couldn't believe my car fired up this morning. The steering wheel was stiff though.

Unusually hot for this time of year in Germany. At the moment +6 - +10 °C. Storm-warning in the north and the middle. (It is expected to be unusually strong the next two days... and then it should be getting colder)

Also i hate winter, i feel like dying slowly if it gets under 0°C (Problems with the hands and feet) so i welcome the mild winter. (Although i am not really a fan of global warming in general)

For me, I call it the "SoCal Weather", where the weather either feels like it's Summer or Fall...

But seriously, yesterday, it was hot enough for me to walk around in a sweater all day... even though it did kinda "drizzle unexpectedly" when I wasn't wearing my sweater during the morning hour... Today, however, it's hot enough for me to do some morning yard work... (which I got done early, if I do say so myself...)

So overall, loving the ~70°F over here in SoCal's San Diego...

The weather here in my part of New Hampshire, USA during January seems to be capable of damn near anything. We'll get 6 inches of snow one day, then it'll be 60F and sunny the next. This past weekend it was somewhere between 40F and 50F, yesterday it dropped to around -10F, this morning it snowed a solid 3 inches, and now it's like 40F again.

Some winters we'll be calculating how much snow we have in feet before New Years (hell, a couple years ago we got a foot of snow before Halloween), others (like this year) we'll have no snow at all until after New Years.

its so windy right now it sounds like there's a school of whales hiding in my back garden...

also they keep chapping the letterbox and have knocked over all the bins.

fucking whales.
Just run up a Norwegiian flag, that should keep them out the garden and away from the bins. We do the same down here with Japanese flags during whale season... although there is a small chance Sea Shepherd will ram your backyard.

Extra windy around here. Atleast it is dry unlike yesterday.
You wouldn't be able to call it a proper winter really, the temperatures aren't normal for this time of the year.

Here in the UK (Leicester) it is currently a practically tropical 8°c outside. It is sunny, which is nice, but the lack of clouds makes it pretty "cold". That being said, im sure Mr OP would gladly trade the -30°c for the 8°c, so im not complaining.

It was 16°c last night, so that was a nice change of pace.

It's snowing, pitch dark, freezing as all hell.

In other words, in complete sincerity, my favourite weather. I'd rather have a cold, dark day than a hot light day.

South of Germany here.

A little bit of a storm here and 15°C/59F.
1-2 weeks ago we had -10°C/14°F and 30-40cm of snow.

In Ireland, the weather fluctuates from mild to fierce mild.

Between 5 and 10 degrees, chances of rain, usual dreary January weather.

It's all very dull.
I can vouch for that, but I'm not sure I want more exciting weather (if -30c is exciting). Just a touch of snow would be nice... no more than a few inches since it seems that we never have any idea how to function otherwise.

Where I live it's only 25[sup]o[/sup]F, but it's been windy as fuck all week so you can probably cut what ever temperature it says it is in half.
