The whole idea of all fiction being a part of one universal tree sounds like an excuse youtube would make to justify how it does copyright.

That 'all in an autistic boys head' thing is really stupid. Even if you take it as gospel that events of St Elsewhere is all in his head it doesn't then follow that everything else is. Unless you believe everything, no just events, are inventions in his imagination rather than, say, his imagination being populated with 'real' people, places, and things.
