in other words, sales of GoW2 had a full size replica lancer witht them America got the pain job that you see int he picture, UK however just got it spray painted Gold.

I am a "SWAG WHORE" as well. If a collector's edition (or L/E) is a game I like (or a series) and I can get some cool stuff with it I'll pay the extra. The RE5 C/E will be mine! That has some of the best swag ever.

I'd agree with the majority of the people in here and say it depends on what comes with the limited edition. The Fable 2 Limited Edition looked way better before Microsoft messed it up. I wish I'd gotten the Bioshock Limited Edition when it came out. But unless there's something worthwhile, such as a collectible or decent in game content, I'm not interested.

Having actually bought the limited edition of Fable 2 i'd have to say i'm not eagerly awaiting anymore L.E merchandise, seriously, i wanted that Hobbe figurine so much, and then they stiffed us...

I love Collectors Editions
I will buy if:
1. i like the game
2. It the box seems worth it

Yeah i bought them - pretty much for art books and the UT3 Collector edtion had packs of get stuff on it!! and i picked it up for £7.50

I suppose it depends on the gear. But the pretties are fun extras.

No. Wouldn't it be better to spend that £10 to £30 on something better yourselves?

I bought a collector's edition of Hearts of Iron 2 on Amazon for £10, and all I got was a weird medal and a huge world map. If I wanted to spend another £10 on it, then I'd go and order a RoC flag, and hang it on my wall, and feel all powerful in game.

Also bough the limited edition of Fallout 3, because that was going for £20 at Game. The only thing that actually works properly in that box was the action figure, which is quite solid, but ugly.
